They have brains in their heads.

They have feet in their shoes.

They could steer themselves in any direction they choose.

As if a hostage, with gun to head, can objectively absolve his hostage taker, Republicans have repeatedly pointed to Ukrainians who claim they did not feel pressured by Trump.

Thank you for making that point clear. It’s been in the background for a while, but is worth confronting.

The histrionics of Doug Collins, Matt Gaetz, Louie Gohmert, et al is really pathetic.

Call me baffled, but I don’t understand how donald commands such devotion from other Rs when he clearly doesn’t give a flying fuck about them. He showed up to campaign for two R governors, they lost, but he’s still bragging he helped them out. Are the constituents of people like Gohmert, Gym, Collins, et al so in thrall to him they’ve told their members of the House to go all in regardless of any lack of reciprocity on his part?

Doug Collins is under the influence of his brother Tom, drinks from that well often and deeply.

Ya gotta love all the high dudgeon about the revelation that Nunes was chatting with Giuliani and others involved in the scheme.

It isn’t relevant that a sitting congressman - one on the investigative committee no less is chatting with the conspirators. Oh no, it is the fact that his name was made public that is the scandal.

The mind boggles.

Is there a point at which even the die hards say no more?

We all should be elated at these developments all around. The name which stands out for me, however, is Barr.

Barr needs to have a reckoning with Congress.

:clap::clap: Applause! Applause! for Nadler. He held his own through the most disturbing display of interruptions and antics I have witnessed over the course of a congressional hearing. It was no easy feat, and he is not as graceful as others, but he certainly kept things from flying off the rails, and he seemed to grow stronger as the day wore on.

Reposted from another thread…

[A call comes in…

“We are good guys. Do what we say.”

“Love to…But can you guys rearrange the Investigative and Prosecutorial Procedures of this country so that neither I nor the President can ever be caught and brought to Justice?”

“Sure, easy…but you have to do your part.”

“What’s that?”

“Do you know a guy named Barr?”]

It’s the whistleblower tactic. Attack the messenger - always.

Almost makes you appreciate nunes, who ranted and raved, but more or less, minus a few outbursts, kept his folks almost in line and behaving…

I know, low bar to pass…

“You don’t just all of the sudden pick up numbers in which you have to match those numbers to actually show where they are and you don’t come up with them!” Ranking Member Doug Collins (R-GA) bellowed at one point, drawing an understated response from Democratic counsel Daniel Goldman: “Actually, what you just described is exactly how it happens.”

I believe this would be a Trumpian grammar form. No wonder Trump wanted Collins to be pick to replace Isakson, they have the same incoherent speech patterns, Are we really sure Collins is oranges from Georgia?

"Durham had an immediate reaction to Horowitz’s 434-page report.

“I have the utmost respect for the mission of the Office of Inspector General and the comprehensive work that went into the report prepared by Mr. Horowitz and his staff,” Durham said in a statement. “However, our investigation is not limited to developing information from within component parts of the Justice Department. Our investigation has included developing information from other persons and entities, both in the U.S. and outside of the U.S.”

Places " both in the U.S. and outside of the U.S.” Oh I see.INSIDE and OUTSIDE the United States .

Decide what you look for and go get it.

“Slaves can’t read”

“You don’t allow them to”

“See?”

Uhm…what is the matter with Steve Castor? Was he struck by lightning at some point or perhaps suffered a ski accident he never got treated for? He openly said that Trump told Senator Johnson that he wasn’t ready to give the aid to Ukraine because of corruption and Republicans are all happy to remind us that “Ukraine corruption” means Biden.

And it’s like…ok, dude. That’s it. That’s the Quid Pro Quo and you just said it out loud. What the hell are you talking about? But somehow they just can’t put this together. Trump’s been openly bragging about his crimes for months and his only defense is that reality doesn’t exist outside of his mind. Now his supporters are not only describing the crimes in public but helping him perpetrate them further; yet act completely oblivious what the crime could possibly be because Biden and Ukraine are the real criminals.

And after Trump leaves office, they’ll forget any of this happened; just like they did with Bush. Heck, even now they can’t remember anything Trump does, even as they’re quoting him.
