It really was a pathetic performance…nary a fact was touched on by the Republicans, who stayed in fairyland and yelled a lot about things that had nothing to do with the facts. They refuse to take the facts on, except a few narrow ones they have selected that, without context, can be twisted to say what they want. It’s amazing that anyone can fall for such a craven attempt to cover for Trump.

It’s as if you bought premium, expensive orange paint to paint your ridiculously huge house, and when the expensive painters, who got a non-refundable contract fee start to put it up, you see it’s absolutely awful. But you’ve bragged to all your friends that you are painting your house the most beautiful sunset color, and you imported the paint from France - and you HATE it. And every day you watch those painters paint more of your house. But you’re in too deep now. What would you do with hundreds of gallons of orange paint? You’ll never see that money again. Nope, you have to let them keep painting.

The only problem with that explanation is that you can’t name any Republican who wouldn’t do the same thing on judicial nominations or taxes, so Occam’s razor doesn’t work here. @jsrtheta may be closer, but some of these guys are in such ridiculously safe districts that the only threat would be from someone who is even further to right. Not sure where you find that candidate.
I’m starting to believe the cultists are so thoroughly brainwashed with the fake news, deep state memes that they will simply continue to dismiss the depths of corruption no matter how compelling the evidence is.

All the GOP Judiciary Committee members demonstrated today was their abject corruption and complicity with Trump’s scheme to hoodwink the Electorate on Joe Biden’s reputation, and their stupidity demonstrated in presuming that this will persuade anybody with half a brain. These guys all deserve to be turned out in the next election and then quickly indicted and convicted for Conspiracy to Defraud the United States in their civilian lives.

I am just totally disheartened and confused by all of this crap being thrown at the walls by the Rethugs. Everything has gotten so complicated it is hard to follow what we actually need to know and all the obfuscated BS that I really wish was not being given the light of day.
It is too much information that one needs to sort though and try to figure out what is true. The fact that our country has come to this, a whole party that sees nothing wrong with lying, yelling and trying to make it seem it’s someone else’s fault that tRump is being impeached. These are people at one of the highest levels of government yet they act like 12 year olds that never had any education or taught to think critically.
I really don’t think I can focus on this like I could until about a week or two ago, it is damaging to one’s soul.
