I really had no interest in seeing it until '78 when my 16 YO sister repeatedly hounded me until I finally took her to the theater.

Mr Sandi saw the opening when he was a teen. He said it was life changing, went back over & over. Not surprising for someone who made a career in computer animation software.

Emily Murphy should learn the lesson of personal honor from Mr Krebs.
Truth and personal honor are critial things.
It is clear that Biden won the election by both the popular vote and by the Electoral votes to come. Therefore Ms Murphy should sign the “ascertainment” document and certify this election so that the transition can proceed.
In my own life I resigned from a well payed job at a university. It was on a point of personal honor. I was asked to support a lie and I refused. Four months passed and I was recruited into a different department at that same university. I noted the increaed respect that came my way. Apparently the story had got around so I know something of the cost of standing for the truth. And the potential upside as well.

The “new style” GOP has brought us so damn close to a fascist, authoritarian regime it is just breathtaking. It is going to take generations of government by SANE people for the US to regain any semblance of respect and trust by the rest of the world.
After Nixon and two terms of Bush/Cheney, and now this bunch of raging criminals, it is clear that there is a large bunch of true morons in this country who neither understand or value democracy.

I’m conflicted because I don’t know if this guy is a civil servant who just got fucked for doing the right thing, or a Trump appointee who is finally trying to do his job because he sees how the winds have shifted and was just trying to save himself because the Russians were surrounding Berlin.

Remember back when trump said “I alone can fix it”? At the time my first thought was … * he’s saying he doesn’t need anybody else*. No one to carry out his orders. He was gonna do everything all by hisownself. An Executive Branch of one. So that’s a lotta unnecessary folk on Rachael’s turn around list

I remember in 1977 when I was living in Chicago when the “Chicago Reader” independent newspaper reviewed “Star Wars”, and its film critic wrote one of the greatest lines I’ve ever read in a movie review:

Meanwhile… “in God we trust” has already eroded the line between church and state. Christian fundamentalist terrorists whine about sharia law only so they can roll out their own dogma (which is actually far more repressive).
Would love to see their little heads explode if we remove the line from all new US currency.

He was appointed by trump in 2018. He previously worked for Microsoft and appears to be well respected in the cyber security industry. Given the clarity and extent of his rebuttal against Covid Donnie’s lies and the unclear/indirect gain for him in doing so, I’m more inclined to believe his motives are genuine as opposed to want to set himself up as part of a deep state sleeper cell.
That said… there are plenty of other well respected cyber security experts Biden could tap that were not part of the outgoing administration.
