Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin — who was charged with murder after he knelt on George Floyd’s neck for nearly 10 minutes — may have voted illegally in Florida, where he owns property, in the last two elections.
I am waiting for the announcement that because of verified Republican voting fraud (including Trump claiming to live in the White House (not in Florida) or at Mar-a-Lago (not allowed by zoning) all Democrats will be barred from voting in November.
This will probably make him a state income tax fraudster in Minnesota. Trump can’t pardon state charges.
And it’s going to make his murder defense a lot harder, now that he can be shown to have lied about other stuff.
I know police in NYC who have been encouraged to go out to Idaho and such places to attend these meetings about America and all that. Sitting round a campfire talking about guns and the real America. A little 3-percent to me. But you can bet cash every captain that sent their guys in with a head of steam is a Fox News viewer.
One of my favorite things at Reason is our continued coverage of “Florida’s Worst Cop.” Sgt. German Bosque—arrested 3 times, fired 6 times, reinstated each time—is the perfect example of how police unions make it impossible to fire bad cops, even against the wishes of colleagues. pic.twitter.com/DJPWn5PGEB
He’s been charged over the last 20 years for “stealing drugs, possessing counterfeit cash, brutalizing suspects and bystanders, lying, insubordination, sexual assault, and various asundry other crimes.”
Even when he’s off the clock, Bosque is a burden on the taxpayers. In 2012, it came out that he was collecting $60,000 a year essentially to sit at home and do nothing, thanks to back pay following his numerous reinstatements.
Bosque has claimed that his bad reputation is the result of a media conspiracy to get rid of him. But he apparently needn’t worry about ever losing his job. As he once told a teenager: “I am the law. If I feel like it right now, I can fuck you up, and no one will say anything about it.”
There’s probably a lot more of this than this example. Florida has a shit load of “snow birds” folks that live up North in the summer but winder down here. If they live in a state that’s a forgone conclusion like Connecticut or Montana they probably vote down here where things are tighter and they can help out the cause. Both DeSantis and Scott won their races by minuscule margins ( I don’t think either actually won ) so it wouldn’t take much snow birding to make the difference.
I know. Are there any conservative rage fetishes that aren’t based on projection? It’s difficult to think of a single thing they screech about that isn’t something only they do.
Especially if those fraudulent FL votes insure state-level shenanigans can continue holding thumbs on scales to benefit Repugnicant decisions about purging those who might otherwise legally vote there.
