An off-duty Secret Service agent fatally shot a dog that he says charged at him while walking through a Brooklyn neighborhood Monday night.
He’d have had to shoot me as well if it was my pet…and he’d probably be justified doing it. Yelling and arguing doesn’t even begin to describe how I’d have reacted.
C’est la vi…police, SS, any gun toting pussy…they’re all just looking for a reason to use it every chance they get.
" small or medium-sized brown dog"
Like I said…PUSSY. And we expect this cowardly little turd to step in front a bullet for the POTUS? Hardly. Resignation should be the least of this assholes problems.
For a second there I got two stories confused and thought the Secret Service shot Stephen Miller.
Got all excited.
Goddamn
My dog is not my “pet” which to me connotes an object. Just like you that fuck would have to take me down as well. And from the photo we see the dog was leashed.
I call that guy a coward… to his face.
My avatar is my Red Tick Coonhound and she’s there for a reason. She is a significant part of the darr family.
"A Secret Service spokesperson told TPM in a statement that the “canine was wearing a leash but unsecured from its owner who was not present.”
…
OK, I am calling BULLSHIT on this explanation. One does not leash a dog and not be nearby holding the other end.
I know what you mean…my kitties are like people to me. I’d have dogs too but alas, my job makes it impossible.
A Belgian sheepdog could easily pull its leash out of an owner’s hand, if it were scared or angry, and particularly if the owner was startled or inattentive at the moment.
But my real question is WHY IS THIS ON TPM?
He is not a coward, he was never afraid, he like many cops and gun owners is a person that enjoys killing, he had the chance to kill something and took it, is not about fear is about the feeling of power of terminating a life just because you can. He probably would have been happier killing a black or arab boy, but a dog would do. Part of the pleasure is that he would not be held accountable for the killing neither for the lies that he told.
I have 2 cats as well. Just lost our old guy of 22+ years (tuxedo cat) so I am all to aware of the feeling of loss. I have had many many cats and dogs and if a cop or anyone tried that shit like that gun happy SS agent I would go down swinging.
Because there is an official puppies thread and official kitties thread in the “Lounge”
And because it is a case of animal abuse.
Pretty sure people like this SS asshole don’t see any difference whatsoever between the three.
Sgt. Mary Frances O’Donnell… told the Times that “the dog charged him” and “he let one round go” before “he killed the dog.”
If anyone else wondered if it’s standard procedure to fire a warning shot before shooting at a charging dog, it’s just that the quote was oddly paraphrased. The actual quote was: “The dog charged him. He let one round go. He killed the dog.” Those things didn’t happen sequentially, they were a single action.
I know what you mean but I am sticking with what I said, no disrespect for your opinion.
Because it’s more evidence that of all the things that need to be reined in and brutally subjugated to the rule of law and will of the people in this country, it’s our law enforcement agencies…all of them, from top to bottom…without mercy nor quarter.
Somehow I’ve managed to deal with any number of unleashed, barking dogs while out running without ever needing to resort to violence.
This POS shot a dog. A dog on a leash.
Sadly our various types of law enforcement services tend to attract people who really want to use guns on “bad guys”. And our culture exalts shooting to an absurd extent. It’s exciting! It’s fun! Bad boys for life!
Also “he let one round go” is a fairly passive way to describing targeting and shooting an animal dead.
The cop’s description assumes the dog to be a throw away object easily discarded. I beg to differ.
Someone shoots one of my dogs being startled is the least of their troubles going forward.
Because cops feeling like they can just shoot anything they want as long as it isn’t a white person is a thing TPM covers. This fits under that “unnecessary cop violence” umbrella.
And if you don’t want to read this, then don’t f*cking click on it. Simple as that.
So . . . this guy was just a-walkin’ down the street with his gun cocked and ready, safety off, when a dog came charging at him? Or did he have time to stop, ready his weapon, aim and fire, during which time he could have ascertained that the dog was on a leash and/or not a threat and/or he could have moved out of the way?
