Obama risked becoming a one term president in order to pass the ACA. The current president was unwilling to even tell people to take precautions against a pandemic because he feared that he was so weak that he couldn’t take the chance of hurting the stock market. As it turns out, he was correct that he was weak.
Republicans in Congress are willing to destroy the country rather than risk a mean Tweet. They are literally admitting that their guy is so unstable that he can’t accept a loss–something that nine other Presidents have been able to do. They are willing to risk the security of the country so that the man who is responsible for that security can “process” his loss.
Let’s make the willingness to take a personal risk one of the standards that we hold for voting for anyone. Republicans are willing to risk our future, but not their own.

When I saw clips from Obama’s interview last night I could feel tears welling up in my eyes. I feel like I have been rescued from a hostage situation only to find that half of my rescuers feel like my kidnapper had the right to abduct me.
In my district here in AZ, Andy Biggs was re-elected as my rep by a huge (60+) margin. He has been going on all of the far right TV shows and screaming fraud and stolen election (on the same ballots that re-elected him).
Here is the worst thing. Since the pandemic hit, my wife and I have been very active in a group called “Buy Nothing”, a web site where people trade and give everything from food to furniture. Every day we give away hygiene items we buy at Costco, food, and furniture my wife has rescued from people who were going to throw it away. We glue them back up, sand them, paint them, then give it away to people who want them. We make arrangements for people to come pick the items up off of our front porch, and some days we have as many as 3 or 4 people drive up, come to our front porch and pick up the items they need. We are in the midst of putting together 11 Thanksgiving dinners with canned items donated from other people on the web site. We will be adding turkeys and other perishables right before Thanksgiving. It is fun and it makes you feel good.
So my Trumper neighbors across the cul-de-sac came to the conclusion that we must be 60 year old drug dealers and came to confront us (sans masks). We had a polite visit and when we showed them what we were doing (our kitchen currently looks like an upholstery shop) by bringing up the web site and showing the history of everything we have been giving away for the last few months, we received an apology and a “job well done”.
I guess the only surprise here is that we were not accused of pedophilia.
