Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance is weighing charges against the Trump Organization and its chief financial officer, the New York Times reports.
I’ll take the week after, if they promise to do it on July 6th, when the Michigan judge’s order to show cause* hearing takes place for all the lucky lawyers who filed election fraud suits before him.
“order to show cause” is shorthand for “order to show me a reason not to sanction your manky ass”
It would be the first instance of Vance filing charges in the probe, which has been going on for at least two years. The Manhattan DA ended up at the Supreme Court twice while trying to enforce a grand jury subpoena for Trump’s tax returns, which he has since obtained.
DRAMA…It’s gone missing since the former resident slithered down to Mar-A -Lego.
Watching what is going on at present with all of the charges being filed against Trumpworld is a bit like watching a delusional child who convinced himself that, just by flapping his arms fast enough, he could jump off of the garage and not have a hard landing.
In the real, non-Trump, version of the world, actions have consequences. Of course, if enough republicans are elected, they will try to change the natural laws.
If this were any other former Chief Executive (as opposed to Mob Boss Trump), this story would have had already 100 comments.
Somewhat validating your point.
All I can add is the saying that there is a first time for everything. Bagging Trump will, at some point, come down to fishing in a 100-foot-diameter lake with 5,000 fishing lines.
The incoming Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg in the state AG office was involved in the Trump foundation settlement. During the debates he would tout his experience on that case as being suited to handle whatever else is leftover from Vance’s office.
I think our Texas legislature has already tried that, with some of the laws they passed in the last session.
Or maybe they and Abbott believe in fairies - the kind who will donate their private property for his Texas Wall AND send $$$$ to build it. I think at last count he had raised enough for a fence post or two.
It isn’t only Weisselberg. The Trumpers operationalize criminality throughout the organization. If this is a real thing (and it looks like it) it will be the beginning of the end for Trump. Once one prosecutor puts up a credible case against Trump, others will chomp at the bit to get in the game.
I’m also wondering why they have to tease us; can’t they just let it rip?
Prosecutors from Vance’s office met with Trump organization attorneys on Thursday, the report says, and charges could come as soon as next week against the company and its CFO Allen Weisselberg.
Has that race been called yet?
Hope that’s the outcome.
I don’t have any hard and fast reason to not trust Weinstein, just a general feeling but I’d rather she doesn’t get elected.
There’s also the smell I got of her trying to buy the election since there seemed to be a campaign flyer from her in my mailbox every day for the last three or four weeks before the primary.
