I did that when I was 4, though I had just seen Mary Poppins, and was using an umbrella as a parachute. I bit a hole in my tongue. Needed stitches. Soup through a straw for 2 weeks. I like to think I learned something that day. :smirk:

I think Weisselberg is the keystone to the edifice that is the trump org. An indictment will knock him out of place. After that, gravity takes over.

It seems that by the margin of votes ahead heā€™s the winner according to the NYT. I think when it was revealed that Weinstein was dumping $8 million into her campaign plus her Wall Street ties made enough voters go for Bragg.

And that is why

  • The Voter Suppression
  • The Extremist Minions
  • Sustained presence, politically

All to keep Donald Trump out of stir

Itā€™s probably intended to pressure Weisselberg into flipping, which he hasnā€™t done yet (AFAIK).

I keep thinking (fantasizing) that itā€™ll come out that Weisselberg has been going into work wearing a wire. Playing up to FatAssā€™s paranoia and letting him dig his own grave re: intent.

(In reality, heā€™s probably going in each day to shred documents, but my fantasy is so much more fun!)

The NYT article says that the trump lawyers met with the prosecutors yesterday, thatā€™s why this is leaking now. So likely just that the prosecution isnā€™t changing their timeline, it was just a push from the trump lawyers to try to head off charges.

I would love to see a class-action suit of contractors and lawyers who were never paid.

Done that one, too. Could hardly swallow for three days because they had to yank my tongue to get at the wound. (no) fun times.

A bag of sharpies and a Texas map might work.

I lost a lot of weight in those 2 weeks. I still remember the doc holding on to my tongue, and seeing the needle go down and up and down and up, 7 times, right in front of my eyes. And then the little tug at the end to pull the thread tight. :confounded: No fun, indeed! My umbrella didnā€™t fucking work!!

Jail time over a few hundred thousand in unreported income, first time offender, probably isnā€™t that much. Weisselberg would probably pull a manafort and do his time, especially since it will likely be home detention (covid-19 ainā€™t going away anytime soon). I dunno about the financial operations collapsing without the wizardry of weisselbergā€“he could get whacked by a garbage truck tomorrow; contingency and succession plans should be there.

Okay, Iā€™ll play Devilā€™s advocate to offset the joy springing from this announcement:

Theyā€™re only moving faster because no one is cooperating with the investigation, which is not as good a result as them taking their time to get every nail available for his coffin.
