It’s just a cold donnie, nuthin’ ta get worked up about…unless it’s you who gets infected. then the whole goddamned world will be treated to your extended victimhood.
Germs donnie… they’re out ta git youse, as they say it in Queens (and among his “friends” in “Joisey” he can call on in a pinch to take care of people in the Sicilian manner of cement over shoes and such)

Oh bother- no we are not.

Now Trump with his Bozo the Clown version of Xi Jinping behaviour, he just may get a bunch of his True Believers sick.

And the death rate of the 60+ doesn’t encourage for his core demographic.

So a crazy idea occurred to me. Imagine a world in which the medical infrastructure across the country effectively collapses. Imagine a world where members of congress die of the coronavirus. Both of these things are happening elsewhere.

Will this FINALLY be enough for us to remove Trump prior to the election? It seems somewhat plausible to me. Ehhh, nevermind, I’m delusional. Republicans would rather die on the Trump titanic than lift a finger for the well being of the republic.

Trump “shouted” at his health and human services secretary, saying Messonnier’s message “scared people,”

No Captain Chaos, you are the one scaring people!

This, of course, is exactly why Trump has no business anywhere close to this crisis. Things are going to get worse before they get better. That is what Nancy Messonnier was trying to warn people about. Telling people things are getting better when they are getting worse is Baghdad Bob messaging.

He isn’t scaring people. Most people are ignoring him. Right now the United States doesn’t have a reliable government.

CNN is reporting that a CPAC attendee tested positive for the virus; don’t know why I got so tickled. Too bad Brother Mike didn’t Lay Hands on the individual.

The prospect of death seems to clear some people’s minds.
I said some.

ETA Actually, it makes them concentrate. THINK. Not a bad thing.

Rural areas throughout the country, with their poor health care and demographics, are going to get hit really hard. The economic impacts will accelerate the exodus of the survivors. Maybe we should think about easing our immigration policies to repopulate those areas.

I can only hope that this will become clearer and clearer even to the base and to the people that are holding their noses and giving him varying degrees of support because they can’t stand Democratic politicians or whatever the fuck kept them from demanding that their elected senators convict his impeached ass.

…because nothing combats a global pandemic like shouting angrily at the messenger, except maybe denial and prayer to the prosperity god.

Oh boy. That’s right stable genius. People are scared because of Azar. It’s HIM they think just isn’t up to the job.

Yup. It’s only a matter of time before Azar gets shuffled off to envoy of Northern Ireland. Oh, wait…is there room for two of those?

Per the Times, Trump “shouted” at his health and human services secretary, saying Messonnier’s message “scared people,” in the Times’ words.

No, sir. I’m pretty sure it’s the orange man with the bad hair and the ill-fitting suit that’s scaring people…going on four years now.

It’s his absolute ignorance, lies, happy talk, and efforts to muzzle the experts that are leaving citizens confused, angry, and scared. His ineffective response has definite consequences.

Rural areas are not densely populated and less likely to have the virus spread like it does in more crowded areas.

New Mexico doesn’t have any cases yet.
