On top of the unprecedented chaos oozing from President Trump’s last-minute “Salute to America” Independence Day show, the federal government is swallowing a hefty tab for Trump’s military equipment sideshow.
Trump has made hundreds of mistakes while in office. The 4th of July Debacle will rank in the upper tier.
The way I see it, Trump has been sheltered (by his own mental illness and the enabling of his handlers) from being exposed directly to the revulsion he creates from most people not in his Base.
This Debacle tests that false reality of his severely.
The U.N.-Remedy-worthy Evil at the Border taking place simultaneously finishes off that false reality.
Oh, for sure. I for one am planning stockpiles of popcorn, beer and CNN for the whole day, think there’s so much potential for this to get nasty and violent when normal people and MAGAts start mixing.
D.C. ain’t prepared for this, it’s not like when they let the Charlottesville Nazis come to town, had a prepared and guarded route for them with set location to spill their vile.

Given the Highly Partisan nature and undoubted fund raising that will occur, should just send Trump campaign and RNC the bill to be reimbursed.

Who would have ever imagined having such a boor and a braggart as the person we have in the White House now? The glory he constantly heaps on himself is downright embarrassing. And now he has hijacked the annual July 4th celebration in DC for his own self-glorification. His base will be there, screaming and pumping their fists in the air as usual, and the rest of us will have to help pay for it.

Sounds like time for some subpeonas to the NPS to determine the extent of the misappropriation. I’m doubtful that the cost will only be $2.5million. Trump doesn’t get out of bed unless the waste and fraud reaches at least $10million.
I’m 1000000000000% sure there will be closed restroom, closed handicap trails, etc because of lack of funding. Already happening and the small venues feel it faster and the problem hangs around longer just because they are smaller and less visited. A few million is not a lot but if you don’t get much to begin with any cut of funds hits harder faster.
An example: The Great Smokies Mountains National Park is the most visited park national park in America. Due to brain surgery I am now using a walker. A few years ago a wildfire swept through the park. There are still handicap trails closed due to lack of funding to rebuild. There are also hiking shelters that I am told will only be rebuilt if done so by volunteers as the NPS does not have the funding. And, once again, this is the most visited park, imagine some lessor known places.

He will continue to be sheltered at this event, too. Its going to be a strictly GOP event…paid for by tax payers in perhaps the biggest Hatch Act violation on record…and afterwards he will only be exposed to the glowing coverage from Fox and Friends.

Of course he will say they were cheering him. The largest crowd ever. Cheering him and our great, new Sherman Tanks!
OTOH, if they did start up production of Sherman tanks, I bet a lot of enthusiasts would love an updated one, maybe with hybrid engine and other improvements, while maintaining that small footprint which makes it perfect for off-roading!
A circus is right, and Trump is not only the orange tinted ringmaster, but the barker outside the tent who can’t keep his mouth shut, the audience, the flying pig act center stage . . .
As always, it is all about him and his self-aggrandizement, and it is about stealing from our country’s treasury.
