Congress’s pay can’t be cut during a term of office, according to the Constitution, but that should not necessarily lead to the conclusion that checks have to go out on time during a period of default or even government shutdown.

Mine and my wife’s benefits too - 3rd Wednesday of the month. The ReThugs have already lost the Gen. Xers over the culture / civil rights assaults. If they fuck up Social Security and Medicare payments, what Senior Citizen Boomers will ever trust them with stewardship of OUR money again ?

When your checks arrive is based on your birthdate.
- If the birthday is between the first and the 10th day of the month, the benefit payment arrives on the second Wednesday of each month.
- If the birthday is between the 11th and the 20th, the payment comes on the third Wednesday of the month.
- If the birthday is between the 21st and the end of the month, the payment arrives on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
