Not every Trump critic was on board with the “lock him up” chants and boos directed toward President Trump during his appearance at game 5 of the World Series in Washington, D.C. Sunday night.
While I fully understand Joe’s point, I disagree in this instance.
Trump loves to dish it out—but he can’t take it when it comes back to him.
It would be great if such chants were not part of the political conversation.
But they are—because of Trump and his cultists—so Trump is fair game to have the chants turned on him personally.
Fuck you, Joe. You’re the guy who carried the MAGAt’s water during the primary season.
“When they go low, we go high” is no longer a viable political strategy. If it ever was.
I loved it. Yes, respect the office and all that. But what trump has already done disrespected the office of the presidency. Worse than any booing crowd can. His lump being in that Oval Office is the most offensive of all.
When drump says lock her up, it is about abusing power to go after political rivals. When people say it back to drump and his minions, its about mocking them and saying for them to be held accountable for their illegal actions.
“Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski took issue with the ‘lock him up chants’…”
I’m really gonna miss all of these expedient allies and their mock outrage, once Trump’s no longer stinking up the GOP.
And they all race back to gleefully being the partisan hacks they always were.
I can almost hear them now, reframing even their own opposition to Trump, as trying to save him from the bloodthirsty “Democrat” mob that stole the White House from this “great patriot”.
