“As a temporary political appointee I’d like to request your indulgence in letting me have it both ways. I really want to keep my job for as long as possible,” National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration acting Administrator Neil Jacobs added.

He’s right. No ones job is currently under threat. He’s already kissed enough ass to prevent that.

The long-term forecast calls for a 100% chance of Trump ass kissing by Neil Jacobs…

JFC. Absolutely NO suit that empty ever accomplished anything beyond very temporary job preservation.

Was this after Bolton was fired?

Where do the Trumpies find such awful, dishonest, self-absorbed people to appoint? Is there a Who’s Who of no-conscience lackeys they consult?

So in other words, Wilbur Ross told Jacobs “Get out there and tell the press that I didn’t do what I did.”

BS, pick a side. You either support your professional staff or you genuflect to the raging idiot at the head of our government, but you can’t sit in the middle because there is no middle.

Here is the NOAA statement he is defending:

From Wednesday, August 28, through Monday, September 2, the information provided by NOAA and the National Hurricane Center to President Trump and the wider public demonstrated that tropical-storm-force winds from Hurricane Dorian could impact Alabama.

No. By Sunday the 1st when Trump was saying that Alabama was going to be hit much harder than expected NOAA was predicting a less than 10% chance that the storm would even touch a corner of Alabama. The idea that the statement above is honest an accurate is clearly incorrect. Pathetic CYA by the NOAA head.

Before folks line up to dump on Jacobs, I would like to note a couple of things:

  • he’s a federal employee who probably doesn’t make a ton of money, and is therefore vulnerable to financial threats
  • we know he’s already been personally, directly threatened by Wilbur Ross

Although it reeks of tin foil, I have to say: I am inclined to believe that someone got to Jacobs. I have some sympathy for him. How easy would it be for someone to threaten Jacobs with persecution by William Barr? These people control 5/6 of the federal government, a network of propagandists, and they have incredible influence over a volunteer army of lunatic “lone wolves” who have already pursued “2A remedies” against some of Trump’s other enemies.

NOAA has already alerted the public to #Sharpiegate, so I’m not inclined to insist that this poor bastard die on this hill.
