And either version makes me cry, but this asshole makes me cuss.
Maybe Trump and Powell could take it on the run?
hard to ignore… who wrote this? it has full sentences and complete thoughts… has gone through a spell check… and of course expounds nothing of Trump’s needs for greed and revenge
A mob boss successfully bribed some jurors and intimidated others to get a sufficient minority of them to find a technicality on which to let him skate. Nothing more, nothing less. Story of the man’s life. They only got Capone on tax evasion and and it may take a tax evasion case to get Trump.
As the denouement emerged this afternoon, and perhaps particularly with McConnell’s after the bell distancing and then the usual Trumpuffery, I kept thinking there are historical and maybe literary precursors which, just maybe, signal a turning point here. The fall of McCarthy (Joe, but in time Kevin) is one, but especially the Matthew Harrison Brady (William Jennings Bryan) character from ‘Inherit the Wind’— this ‘victory’, the product of perverted mindless support of a venal cause, might represent its high watermark coinciding with a moral nadir. It will take time, but even in ‘failure’, this boil may have been lanced. Lots of metaphors, yes, but even with chagrin, some sense of hope.
Well just spit-balling here, if you run into one just ask them what church they attend. Because your last line “Racist, fascist, hypocritical, filled with hatred, intellectually incurious, willfully ignorant . . .” covers quite a few denominations.
OK, the Johnny Cochrane OJ trial just ended. Nobody came out of that trial thinking OJ was innocent. Now time for the Ron Goldman civil case, in the form of a 14th amendment insurrection disqualification vote. Let Trump bleat about looking for the real killer.
Ignore anyway
okay asshole,
you’re worst days are ahead of you and witches would feel like bed buddies as to compared what is coming for you.
you will be conquered and destroyed, it’s only a matter of time.
unless the world gets lucky and you drop dead, or Iran does there drone missile strike while you are on one of your bankrupt golf courses. which most will say a quiet thank you.
Nah. Witch hunt proves he wrote it his self.
But will they remember? That is what I worry about. 45 will try it again.
So Soviet: “Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement… our incredible journey together… a bright, radiant, and limitless future…” Etc., etc., etc. Corruption of language, a basic tool of tyrants.
Could not agree more.
The lack of parallel structure, I find irksome:
“I always have [be], and always will, be a champion for the unwavering rule of law, the heroes of law enforcement, and the right of Americans to peacefully and honorably debate the issues of the day without malice and without hate.”
What is infuriating isn’t that witnesses were not called; it is that, because the Republicans are so contemptuous of our democracy that they would vote to acquit that guilty motherfucker no matter how factual and corrosive the evidence was. But witnesses or no witnesses, the Dems laid out an airtight case for conviction, and the defense of Trump by his lawyers was execrable. There was no excuse whatsoever not to convict. It was like watching a murder trial where the defendant and his lawyers scream at the judge and juries all through the trial threatening to have their entire families murdered if they return a guilty verdict.
This travesty is all on the cowardly GQP and their man-baby king. But I have a strong feeling that this is far from over, and Trump is going to go down and drag Lindsey and Mitch and Cruz and Hawley and the rest down with him.
Of course it was a witch hunt. And we found a real witch, but 43 Senate Republicans refused to burn him at the stake.
Trump has played so many games of golf instead of thinking or doing his job he probably thinks a lower score means you win at anything.
I don’t know about anyone else but I feel like on the first Tue of every month we vote again, just for President. I think the numbers for Joe would go up.
We’re going to see a completely unleashed Trump now. He can literally get away with anything. The GOP reaps what they’re all about to sow. If only the raging damage Trump will incite only hurt them.
