NIH Director: I’m ‘Rather Disheartened’ By How Few People Wore Masks At Trump Rally

Dr. Francis Collins, the director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), on Thursday night lamented how few people wore masks at President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Freeland, Michigan earlier that day.

I’m pretty puzzled and rather disheartened,” the HHS official added.

Is it something in Collins family DNA? It’s almost as if he’s… concerned…

Yup, that’s one strangely recognizable “furrowed brow.”

What exemption is the Trump campaign claiming when they visit a State and stage a rally and the Governor has issued an executive order that gatherings of more than “X” number of people are not permitted?

Yes! Why aren’t these events shut down? State police step in and turn off the power! Disperse the crowds!

States rights.

Me? I’m thrilled! Keep it up, Trumpets. Go ahead and burn your masks on 9/15. FREEDUMB!!!

As a human being, I’m pretty puzzled and rather disheartened by the lack of sense at Trump rallies.

Puzzled? Really? Trump’s supporters have been showing us who they are for years. They’re dog bites man writ large.

I’m not disheartened. I’m rather interested in seeing a real-world application of what the word “ravage” means.

OT - sorry to post Instant Outrage, especially on and about 9/11, but it’s important (Lincoln Project, if you’re listening…) … though the article says this started in 2016, so before trump.

They seem to be holding them all on airport runways. Federal jurisdiction?

“Imagine you were an alien who landed on planet Earth, and you saw that our planet was afflicted by an infectious disease and that masks were an effective way to prevent the spread,” the public health official continued. “And yet when you went around, you saw some people not wearing them and some people wearing them, and you tried to figure out why, and it turned out it was their political party.”

This brings to mind Dr. Suess’ ‘Butter Battle Book’.

“How did we get here?”

By completely misconstruing the function of self-esteem in a healthy mind.

(It’s a long story.)

Gee. He’s “rather disheartened.”
I myself have gone beyond distressed, dismayed and disgruntled straight to disgusted, no “rather” about it.

Come on, Francis, finish the hypothetical…it only gets much worse…

“Imagine that a vaccine was developed to prevent the infection of said disease, but these aliens noticed only a subset of Americans partaking in the acceptance of such vaccine. And aliens noticed the planet seemed very ill, but only a subset of Americans appeared concerned with helping heal this ever-sickening orb. These aliens were shocked to see that certain colors of humans were often brutally treated, but only the same subset of Americans seems concerned with helping these poorly treated individuals…”

I think aliens would be too distracted pondering the popularity of Adam Sandler to give any consideration to our health crisis. That and the inability of urban clothing stores to stock pants belts for men.

Puzzled? I don’t know why. The government officials that have been dancing around tRumps lies for the last 9 months should not be puzzled. They are complicit in his crimes THEY KNEW how bad it was going to get yet they stood on platforms with him, made non-committal comments in the media to cover for him. Even Fauci knew the real deal. They all should be bought up on criminal charges.

No pesky fire marshalls required to tabulate accurate crowd counts.

Plus, speechifying from the plane door was a Hitler staging shtick.
