Special counsel Jack Smith’s indictment of former President Donald Trump details a sweeping criminal conspiracy to reverse his loss in the 2020 election. Smith described a marked shift away from legitimate election challenges toward a strategy in which the President and those close to him used “knowing deceit in the targeted states to impair, obstruct, and defeat the federal government function.” And Smith identified one day as the key turning point when the plot veered from political gamesmanship into deliberate falsehoods: November 13, 2020.

Ronna McDanial and Kelli Ward are implicated along with all the others. Is there going to be anybody left in the leadership of the Republican party after Trump? Are they all going to be in prison? Do any of them have an ounce of integrity?
Ronna Romney funded the January 6 coup and assassination attempts on Speaker Pelosi and Vice President Mike Pence with millions of dollars.
She has continued to try and destroy our constitutional democracy and foster fascism. She has been laundering money from white christian extremists, NRA, evangelical churches, Russian intelligence, and assorted enemies of America at the RNC.
I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that a lot of Trumps most ardent supporters in Congress are not just worried about Trump having them primaried. Many of them, like many in Republican leadership, were actual participants with Trump in January 6. The comedians have been right about Cruz, Gates, Green and the rest.
And that’s just it: Mark Meadows was in the thick of the whole thing. He saw it all happening. He worked with the people who wanted to help Trump by hook or by crook. He knows all. And yet, he’s apparently not considered a “co-conspirator”.
Why not? Because he’s got to be cooperating. Because he’s not a target, he’s on the witness list. This is big.
While McDaniel helped the Trump campaign publicly question the results in the first week after the election, the RNC chairwoman has — prior to the indictment — largely avoided being seen as a key player in the plot. These newly revealed messages provide far greater detail than was previously known about the part these two GOP officials played in the scheme at the very moment the special counsel has pegged as the major turning point.
I realize this goes down a very, very deep rabbit hole, but suppose that this news forces Republican leadership at the RNC to be replaced. Would anything within the RNC or the Republican Party at large really change? Would the change in leadership result in any new position or direction for the Republican Party? I highly suspect that nothing would change for the GOP because everyone who is in a position to lead the Republican Party in any way is also just as corrupt and anti-American as is the Republican’s current leadership. How far down that rabbit hole would the Republican Party have to dig before it finally found someone who is clean enough the lead their Party while simultaneously remaining clear of any activity to condone or excuse or nullify the crimes of DJT? The Republican Party, and every elected Republican in Congress is 100% complicit in the crimes committed by DJT.
Whatever TPM knows Smith knew much earlier and knows more since. And the coup supporters know that Smith knows. That’s why the crazies in the House want to defund Smith now.
