New York Judge Issues A Gag Order After Trump Launches Wild And False Attacks On His Court Clerk

On the second day of his civil trial in New York City, former President Trump and his campaign let loose a series of false and inflammatory attacks on Arthur Engoron, the judge presiding over the case, and his court clerk. The barrage went beyond even what we have previously seen from Trump, who has had a habit of making incendiary statements about prosecutors and others while being involved in multiple court cases.

Throw him in Rikers. The civil war will be worth it.

He’d have the opportunity to show what a tough guy he is. :grinning:

Honest question – since we all know Trump wont follow the gag order, what “sanctions” can be applied? Jail time?

I’m fine with him getting a ball gag. Won’t be the first time. I apologize in advance for putting that image out there.

If only for a couple of hours, it would be a good thing for tfg to have to go through the indignity of the admissions process, giving up his clothes for whatever prisoners wear, being searched for contraband, deloused, etc. The world would be a better place if he got a taste of that.

A blindfold and a last cigarette.

That last part won’t be necessary. Even lice have their standards.

This is a civil trial, so jail, probably not, but we need TXLawyer to comment here.

I’m thinking daily fines, but Trump doesn’t care. He’ll just grift off of the Judge’s contempt fines.

Never in my lifetime would I ever believe this piece of shit human being (is Trump human?) would be in the news EVERY FUCKING DAY.

Monetary sanctions are most likely. Taking away his phone would be a more creative way of addressing the problem. He’s not going to jail.

He makes Nixon quaint in comparison.

Can’t the judge rule Trump in contempt of court send send him to jail for a couple days to reflect on how to keep his mouth shut.

Most likely correct, but what about a scenario where the judge orders the bailiff to arrest him and take him to a holding cell in the courthouse for a little time-out to think things through, followed by hauling him back into the court room and the words “I hope I’ve made myself clear.”

Trump would revel in it and make it the basis of his appeal.

txlawyer - I couldn’t agree more. Prohibit him from using any social media apps, etc., and really tamp down. Fine him $100,000 per occurrence thereafter.

A fine is great if there is a way to collect. He has dodged creditors for years.

Harder to dodge a judgment creditor than just some contractor he’s stiffed. Trump ponied up in excess of $5 million in cash to bond out E. Jean Carroll’s judgment during the appeal. He’s got the resources to pay off any sanctions for the sake of avoiding discovery into his assets.
