New York AG Joins Criminal Probe Into Trump Organization | Talking Points Memo

It is so appropriate that a black woman, who went to a city college and Howard Law may very well be the one who puts that whole sorry group in jail.

(I know, it’ll never happen)

But I love that this is a New York thing - it’s a neighborhood thing.

And I hope she gets to depose his sorry humanoid-self …

I used to have fantasies about Kamala deposing but Tish James will do nicely …

"Now Donald, take me … Donald, Donald sit down. Officer, restrain the DEE-FEN-DANT!

What is the world coming to? Do we even have a system of justice if a rich white criminal can’t shut down a fscking investigation?

First one typically gets the best deal, subsequent flips each need to offer something/someone bigger.

But I’m not sure anyone is going to flip, or (given the voluminous records) that the prosecution will need a flipper. All the tools for handling Big Data make prosecution of this kind of case much easier – for example, once you’ve determined a line of shell companies and cutouts, the computers can trace transactions pretty much automatically. (It’s essentially the same kind of traffic analysis that computer forensic people do to figure out the source of obfuscated communications routing.)

Here we go again! Been through it before. What ever happened to swift justice? Drip, drip, drip he will die first.

A convicted felon is not prohibited from running for President. The MAGA mob would probably have held Trump in even higher regard in 2016 for having beat the system and bamboozled the IRS and NY tax authorities for decades before being “unjustly” prosecuted. Damn few people watch heist caper movies and sit there rooting for the police to prevail, right?
Nah, I doubt had Trump been pursued more vigorously pre-election it would have mattered. People root for rogues. It’s part of the USA DNA.

I’m so old, I recall that a criminal investigation of Ivanka and Jared got dropped after the Large Orange Shit-Stain made a significant contribution to Cy Vance Jr.'s re-election campaign.

Vance and James will be considering their options through 2032.

Indeed it is way way to slow. But this isn’t just drump but his org, so his family wealth is involved and his kids, so even if he dies there is a chance for Eric and Jr to get theirs

I hear Manafort’s available for consultation.

Vance is not running for re-election… so, it’ll fall to someone else to fail to prosecute Trump, this time.

The isolated ink spots are growing and merging into one big ink splotch.

Flip the grandkids first, then the kids, then the parents, then then go after the boss.

Flip the grand-nephews, then the nephews, then the siblings, then go after the boss.

Go after the boss after flipping the cousins, but before that the second-cousins, but before that the third-cousins, …, all the way back to all the Drumpfs back in the old country and the entire Drumpf diaspora the world over.

Make it so.

Throughout Trump’s career he’s been continually threatened in one way or another with comeuppance by various legal and civil authorities. Yet the Reaper never actually crosses the threshold with his scythe. Do you ever get the feeling it can only be for two, and only two, reasons? Either no one has ever truly had the goods on him. Or everyone is scared to death of the bastard and what he’s capable of in meting out retribution?

“Imagining what the nation and the world would have been spared if people had done their jobs ten or 20 years ago.”

I assume that the shame of having been one of those prior enablers is a major thing motivating Vance now. Or at least that’s the hope.

Shame? That emotion went the way of the Dodo bird.

There are two sets of rules: one for the wealthiest 2% and one for the rest of us. If you want to know who’s at the bottom, it’s the people getting shot by cops before being allowed a hearing.

Shame for doing bad things? Agreed, that emotion’s gone. Shame for having been rolled by Trump? I think that emotion still exists in NYC, unlike in the Republican Party

Jared’s father has been to prison which is why he’ll flip first. His dad will remind him that he’s Jewish and what the white supremacists marching in Charlottesville were chanting. In prison, his religion would trump his whiteness and he’d have no home or protection from any of the gangs unless he could buy it. Also, let’s just be honest, Jared’s face is awfully effeminate. He’s tall, svelte, and he just looks like he couldn’t knock a fly out in ten rounds. State prison is no place for a dude that looks like Jared, and he won’t have to worry about being cut out of daddy’s will. He’ll flip.

A civil probe here, a criminal probe there, here a probe, there a probe, everywhere a-probing they find the rotten “big-cheese” stink.

Any other country they would have thrown that one out a long time ago.
