New Misconduct Allegations Against Pete Hegseth Emerge In The New Yorker

I think that we can safely assume that there were no women members of the “team” that visitee the strip club.

I don’t watch TV during daytime. Maybe a movie in the evening or an old “science based” show called Mythbusters. It’s entertaining and well away from politics. I have a limit of how much of politics I can stand because it’s so slime covered and full of lies and dishonesty. And then there’s trump.

Yes, and we’ll be hearing screeching about this “hypocrisy” for many many years. Sigh. Good for Joe.

They’ll all cause unnecessary deaths and needless suffering, but RFKJ’s will be more immediate and readily quantifiable.

And the one I found so infuriating I can’t even remember the name, the police canine officer who allowed her dog to bite someone already cuffed and on the ground.

On Hunter Biden, i am more concerned with the fair, even, and consistent application of the law to every US citizen. And the pardon supports such an application—if Hunter Biden were named Dumbo McDumbarse and the underlying actions by Mr McDumbarse were the same and he was not related to Joe Biden (or any high ranking Dem Politician or major supporter) those prosecutions would never have moved forward. The pardon power has long been used for self-interested reasons, at least this one does work in support of the fair, even and consistent application of US criminal laws.

Biden sitting down and doing pictures with Trump as part of the transition is considered “being owned” by the MAGA intelligentsia. Arguing with these people is like arguing with a belligerent drunk.
What I want to see in the next day is some prominent media outlet publish a list of all of the people Trump has pardoned with a bio on each and every one. But that won’t happen because all anybody wants to click on is the thunderous noise of Trump and the next outrageous thing he says or does. He isn’t even sworn in and we are already smack dab in his nightmare reality show - honestly, I am not sure we ever left. I’m glad Biden pardoned Hunter, but on the other hand, nepo babies never make me happy no matter which side they are on.

Hegseth should be circling the drain by now as should Tulsi Gabbard and Patel. These are toxic nominees.

Call the Capitol switchboard especially if you have a GOP Senator.

She now claims that Pete is a good father etc. Well, what else would you suspect?

https://amp.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/nov/30/trump-defense-secretary-pick-pete-hegseth-mother-abuser-of-women

A 2018 email from Penelope Hegseth accused her son of routinely mistreating women and displaying a lack of character.

“You are an abuser of women – that is the ugly truth and I have no respect for any man that belittles, lies, cheats, sleeps around, and uses women for his own power and ego,” Penelope Hegseth wrote in the email obtained by the New York Times.

You are that man (and have been for years) and as your mother, it pains me and embarrasses me to say that, but it is the sad, sad truth,” she added, advising her son to “get and take an honest look at yourself”.

My only disappointment is that he didn’t wait until the evening of Jan 19 to do it. My reasoning is:
• It would give him an opportunity to lay out how corrupt the prosecution was and explain that his pardon should indeed be interpreted as a big “FU” to the incoming maladministration; and
• It would completely eliminate the window of opportunity for the usual holier-than-thou suspects to spout bullshit about him “going back on his word.”

I already stopped watching. Best decision of my life.

I still find MSNBC’s anchors and guests informed and interesting. PBS, too, although I prefer MSNBC. A completely fractured news environment isn’t in our best interest.

I’ve never watched that thing they call cable news. You won’t miss anything. In fact you might become an even better person.

It did, if I remember right. Hunter left it with a computer repairman and forgot about it. The computer guy supposedly found damning info on the hard drive that got picked up by the R’s. Chain of custody was broken, there was no way to prove that it was actually Hunter’s data, so it went nowhere except as a MAGA talking point.

Makes one wonder how Pete Hegseth got the gig at Faux in the first place.
