Listened to a Russian propaganda expert this morning on podcast Fast Politics as she spoke about how happy Putin is that not only is Trump president again but also about some of his specific choices, including Tulsi Gabbard and Pete Hegseth. This is demoralizing and what makes it almost unbearable is that half of the country can’t stop cheering. Don’t think I have ever felt this isolated from my own country.
The rule isn’t intended to be enforced. The rule was made for just one purpose, and that’s to target and shame incoming Democrat Sarah McBride, the first trans member of Congress.
It’s part of the Republican agenda to push transsexual people back in the closet, because they’ve discovered it’s a useful weapon to use against Democrats.

After Trump, I don’t think focusing on sexual escapades and even believable allegations of rape is necessarily always the thing that should be brought when questioning someone’s fitness for office. As bad as guys like Gaetz and Hegseth are, it is almost like their complete and absolute lack of any qualification for the position is being obscured by the tabloid stuff. Makes me crazy.
ETA: BTW, your comment about her in and out memory lapses being consistent with rape victims is spot on. It is also very consistent with the kind of blackouts that can happen when someone either drinks way too much or is slipped an amnesiac type drug like Rohypnol.

You need not wonder if Trump will try to undo what Biden did. He most certainly will, except for the parts he keeps and rebrands. Watching Trump show up for the ribbon cutting ceremonies for roads and bridges built by Biden’s infrastructure act will be enraging for some.
The only shred of hope I have left is that the ACA, Social Security, Medicaid, and VA benefits will be spared as long as they are renamed “Trump Care or Trump Aid.”
