Never Mind! WH Swiftly Walks Back Email Detailing Eviction Instructions | Talking Points Memo

None of this is “just trump being trump”
None of this is acceptable in any capacity.
None of this.

None of this can be forgotten or hope it doesn’t happen again.

These things are a cancer and will not go away. They need to be addressed and explicitly pointed out as corrupt and flat out an attack of an unprecedented level on our core democracy.

This will not just go away if we ignore it. We address it or will continue to relive this bullshit.

I was just wondering, ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law; but what if I amp it into living in an alternate reality, does that provide legal protection?

If so, then let me explain that the Christmas tree is talking to me right now, so all you nice police officers can ignore my little bit of breaking the speed limit, its all good.

Hey, it’ll be Red Dawn with the scrappy BOP* boys fighting against the Biden Bolsheviks.* So of course they’ll win since the plot was so ingenious and realistic it’s bound to work in real life.**

* And the entire apparatus of the US Armed Forces.
** Because Trump really really wants it to and that’s how magical thinking works.

These next four weeks are going to be epic in the annals of U.S. history - above and beyond the crudity and ludicrosity of the past four years. The Pentagon staff is pissed at him, the intelligence agencies are pissed at him and he has only the U.S. Marshall and SS to protect himself from being picked up, put in handcuffs and hauled out of 1600 up to one second after noon on the 20th. The blocks surrounding the WH will need be secured from an armed takeover by his minions, despite whatever directives he issues. Secret Security guys hauling his ass away will be a sight to see!

I just got back from my daily bike ride. I got as close to Mar-a-Logo as security will allow. I have never seen such security for an impending Presidential visit. I mean they have road blocks followed by road blocks and police tents every few hundred yards. I don’t know if they are preparing to protect him from a backlash to a coming coup or preparing to keep him in when the coup fails. These are going to be scary days. It all depends on whether anybody besides his closest loyalists are listening to him.

This is where Mike Pence ought to borrow Mother’s ovaries and do the the right thing and call the Cabinet to invoke the 25th.

No.

The only way you get to use insanity as a defense against a criminal act is if you can prove - and the burden of proof is on the defendant because insanity is an affirmative defense - that the defendant did not know the difference between right and wrong. It is an incredibly high bar for a defendant to get over.

Santa gave you a blanket pardon too.

I would be shocked if he acted decently. Nothing he would try would shock me. But I could be shocked if he succeeded (IOW convinced the military or whatever to carry out his orders) in something truly desperate.

I think Josh Hawley is the really scary one. He is not as disgusting and Cotton or Cruz and he knows how to pretend to care. But he is a full blown fascist.

Don’t they have a macro for that? Would be cheaper.

I surprised that her blog isn’t named ‘The Petri Dish’.

I’d read something with that name on it… LOL!!!

The illness is exacerbated by the coming phalanx of legal proceedings he faces. Think of it: a suit by Hillary Clinton against him (alone) could easily eat up all of the recent contributions he’s garnered.

Yeah, but the funny thing? Not a peep out of Trump. Not a tweet, nothing.

Which speaks loudly.
