Every single one of Barr’s moves comes out of the Iran-Contra playbook, and every single time he’s been caught short it’s because of the speed and ubiquity-of-distribution that internet tech makes possible. That Barr & Pompeo & Mnuchin & Ross & fuck me, even a allegedly bright-if-corrupt-asshole like Mulvaney, think they’re not on security forces’ records strikes me as the height of anachronistic stupidity.
