The National Archives and Record Administration confirmed on Friday that it had recovered classified White House records from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, and that it had referred the matter to the Department of Justice.

It’s fair to assume that he was going to sell such secret material to the highest foreign bidder who came knocking.
It’s what a Mob Boss would do.
Everybody knows that and should be saying so in five, four, three…

“NARA has also learned that some White House staff conducted official business using non-official electronic messaging accounts that were not copied or forwarded into their official electronic messaging accounts, as required by section 2209 of the PRA. NARA has already obtained or is in the process of obtaining some of those records.”

I can’t help but wonder how much space The NY Times will devote to Trump’s missing emails…

TFG is too dumb to do that. He probably didn’t even know he had the documents. Told his people to grab all the stuff and lets go. So they grabbed random stuff to look like they were “working”.

It appears more glaring because the GOP and Trump are constantly sowing chaos every living second since Trump was rightfully defeated as POTUS.

I have long observed legal actions against moneyed and powerful people, most of whom have done a tad more than Donald in keeping their mouths shut while availing themselves of whatever legal protection their power and money could provide.

Trump, Trump World and now the GOP (which has made Trump’s chaos tactics part of their overall linkage to themselves) appear to be all in.

Until they’re not

I remember how much the right wing went after Hillary for the Little “c’s” on her emails. It’s such BS and the dems better step up their game on attacking any republican that doesn’t denounce Trump.

Here’s the sticky wicket in all of this. As I understand it, a President while in office doesn’t have to follow any formal procedure for declassifying documents. So Trump can say that while he was in the room with all the boxes ready to be loaded on the truck before he left the WH and was still President, he waved his hand over all the boxes and said “I hereby declassify all of this.”

Of course he didn’t do that, he was too stupid or too arrogant to bother. But if there were no witnesses, he could still say now that he declassified all these documents and it might get him off the hook. A President’s power to declassify anything is essentially absolute, like the pardon power.

Since no TFG flunky has personally conveyed the information to Maggie Haberman, as far as NYT is concerned, it didn’t happen.
