The National Archives and Records Administration is investigating Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross’ use of his private email account for official business.
“The Justice Department is arguing that the Commerce secretary should not have to sift through Ross’ personal email accounts, insisting that copies of the emails also exist in his government account.”
Isn’t the whole point of this to find private emails about government business that were never copied to the Dept. of Commerce site?
Is DoJ now in the business of making only frivolous arguments and chasing conspiracy theories?
Seriously? The whole point of this is to manufacture an impregnable double standard, under which conduct pursued by Barr when engaged in by Dems is applauded, defended, or totally ignored when committed by Repubs.
I think we need to either mothball the e-mail law or put some real enforcement measures behind it. The current situation, where politicians flagrantly ignore it, is ridiculous. It’s safe to assume absolutely no one is adhering to the guidelines at present.
But, sure, lock him up. That seems to be the pound of flesh Republicans demand for such offenses.
C’mon, look at his picture. If ANYONE had something nefarious in his e-mails, it would be the guy who looks like every evil character Charles Dickens ever invented.
Anyone know what Ben Carson is up to these days? He’s been awfully quiet. Not a good sign when it comes to this maladministration. Rick Perry did the same thing for almost three years until we suddenly heard he was knee-deep in this Ukrainian bullshit. tRumpian maxim: the farther from the media these fuckers are from scrutiny the more they’re up to no good.
He gave the opening prayer at this week’s (last week?) Cabinet meeting - and at one point he even talked about separation of church and state doesn’t really mean what we think it means…
