During the nomination fight, Sen. Susan Collins (R) bought into now-Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s Roe v. Wade hedging, publicly asserting she believed Kavanaugh when he said he respected precedent.
To paraphrase one of her predecessors: Let. Her. Eat. Cake.

When Collins came out of her silence during her “will-she-or-won’t-she” phase of the Senate vote on Kav, she cast her pro-Kav vote in an ostentatious fashion.
But…maybe she knew that Dems would be enraged anyway…so why not have some fun?
I’m very concerned for her.
During WWI, the Germans described their alliance with Austro-Hungary as being shackled to a corpse. That is Collins’ relationship to Trump but it is not clear which one is the corpse, maybe both.

And as far as I’m concerned, enablers of Trump like her who try to have it both ways are worse than the most imbecilic MAGA-ite.
Susan “Lucy” Collins is a Senator without any convictions who pretends to care. She has no business in the United States Senate.

This is my concerned / troubled / disappointed face:
She had many chances to do the morally correct thing, chances that could have seen her grow into the leader of the anti-Trump faction of the Republican party. That would have been a very good place to campaign from right now, as Trump falls apart and drags Republicans down with him…it may have even won her reelection despite Trump’s toxicity.
If she loses, it serves her right for trying to straddle the fence between decency and the horror of the Trump Republican party while going along with everything Trump does.
Also a lying piece of shit. Collins ran for the senate pledging to only pursue two terms. That was 25 years ago.
Collins is a good example that no one in the GOP can escape Trump’s corruption. If she wanted to maintain her famed moderation, she should have left the GOP and run as an independent.
I’m glad to learn my concern is easy to discern.
