MSNBC host Chris Matthews has really been on a roll lately.
As he was interviewing Jaime Harrison, a Democratic candidate who seeks to unseat Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), on Friday night, Matthews saw live footage of Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) with Graham at President Donald Trump’s campaign rally in South Carolina and somehow believed the man he was talking to in real time was the same person he was seeing at that rally.
A random person on the street would probably not know who either of these men are…a political reporter on a national network has no excuse not to know the difference. Matthews needs to take a break, he’s really screwing up and it’s making the network look bad…replace him with someone who is on top of things. Maybe bring him back for commentary from time to time, make him a senior correspondent and have him do specific pieces, whatever it takes, but push him out of the seat where he keeps embarrassing himself and insulting people.
When he interviewed Kamala, he made a ‘losing your virginity’ reference while asking about some non-sexual thing she had done. And kind of giggled in that creepy way.
Matthews and Chuck Todd are a big reason I stopped watching I almost never watch NBC / MSNBC anymore. Them and the fact that NBC kept The Apprentice on the air while Trump was in full birther mode
Chris Matthews’ histrionics get on my frickin’ nerves, same as Joe Scarborough and Chuck Todd. They need ego checks (and correction) or they should go home and pull the shades and stay home…forever.
In my experience the white guy who protests the loudest about “political correctness” and the “excesses” of the #metoo movement are almost always the ones who have a history of misbehavior. When I saw the clip of Matthews talking to Warren, I thought: this guy identifies much too closely with Bloomberg, he’s making a complete ass of himself.
This was the most cringe-worthy moment of live TV I’ve seen in a long time. It didn’t seem like an understandable, brief, senior “moment.” It was more like he couldn’t understand that he’d made a mistake at first, and when it finally dawned I swear I was about to hear him say, “Well they all look alike, don’t they?” Simply fucking awful.
