Moderates Unite: Buttigieg Is Reportedly Planning To Endorse Biden | Talking Points Memo

Former South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg will endorse former Vice President Joe Biden on Monday night in a bid to give Biden’s campaign a boost ahead of an all-important “Super Tuesday,” several outlets reported Monday.

There is no way Buttigieg would endorse Bernie. Biden is the moderates’ dream candidate, compared to Bernie.

So tomorrow is the day everything will come into focus, with just … 4 1/2 months till the convention.

And I thought the two-week wait for the Super Bowl was ridiculous!

I am very unhappy with the idea of Bernie vs. Biden. One reason I’m voting for Warren tomorrow. Bernie is too doctrinaire (so is Warren, but a bit less and on fewer issues). Biden is too lacking in mental focus. Democrats should be doing better. A lot better.

Pretty much the same. Now I have no one I remotely like in this race. Sigh.

Elizabeth Warren is an excellent candidate and would make a great president, so in that sense Democrats are doing good. Its just that we have trouble seeing it.

Time to edit the list again! (Klobuchar)

I like the idea of Pete as VP. He brings a lot to the table. He could be an effective attack dog against both Trump and Pence

Did Sessam and Moulton endorse yet?)

If only the primaries weren’t so driven by established brands. (not that I have anything smart to say how we could get around that…)

Moulton did. But I don’t care for him one bit.

All of that being a given, I trust you appreciate the urgency of backing to the hilt whichever Democrat emerges so we can extricate that swine of a Current Occupant from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue?

“Like Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), the reports indicate Buttigieg will endorse Biden at Biden’s rally in Dallas Monday evening.”

It’s almost as if…oh, I dunno…maybe Democrats want a Democrat to win the Democratic nomination?

Something like that.

Anyone but Trump.

No comment on Biden’s acuity, but what do you mean by “is too doctrinaire”?

Obvious question: How does it differ from “sticks to her principles”?

Who is the best VP running mate for Biden?

What do you mean here by “established brands”?

Trump did the same as Sanders is doing now: took control of the far-end of the spectrum, which–in the case of the GOP–left Jeb, Scott Walker, Rubio, Cruz** and others fighting for the LeftOvers…and doing so for quite a while.

Dems have some wiggle-room to get it together and not lead up to the Convention in an intramural “war”.

**Compared to Trump even Cruz is a “moderate”.
