A major newspaper in Rep. Josh Hawley’s (R-MO) home state is joining in on the laughs after the Jan. 6 Select Committee aired security footage of the GOP congressman fleeing from insurrectionists as they stormed the Capitol.

I cannot decide which aspect of their behavior is kryptonite for Republicans like Hawley. The cowardice demonstrated here, running from rioters he inspired, would seem likely to doom his electoral chances. But in Trumpworld, grabbing women’s genitals and bragging about it creates an image of crashing and burning, too. Alas.
I doubt anyone will even notice, much less care. Those imbeciles would elect a ceramic statue of Jesus stuffed with a kilo of meth before they’d turn on an insurrectionist who was helping their lord and savior, Fat Boy.

I will never figure these folks out. They were never invited to the dance. Every time Republicans schedule a dance they move the location at the last minute to avoid associating with them. And yet the Log Cabin Republicans persist in deluding themselves that their chosen party has their interests in mind.
