Bye bye Eric
Wear yer mask and keep distant if ya wanna continue on this side of death.
Your choice Eric but remember your choice will affect those around you in a very very negative way and that is a very thoughtless and very careless way to live.
So
Bye Bye Eric.
It’s really sad that someone as gifted ans Eric Clapton is with a guitar would choose to be very deliberately stupid.

Women sure as hell ought to be treated as every bit equal to anyone else. Perhaps a way to have a guy understand women a tad bit better would be to experience child birth. Or maybe told “you hafta wear this burka in public but you aren’t allowed in public” (the Taliban take on women). Imagine how a guy would react to being told that.

Yup. Depends on the state and yes it’s rarely enforced. Tossing up debris at highway speeds is quite dangerous.

Where I live in CO there’s lots of it too on Jeeps and trucks. At least some of those get used off-road (but fender flares are available and should be used, as folks who get hit with a rock off-roading with doors off will discover).

If you have to replace a windshield on a car with lots of sensors the cost is amazingly high (added labor charges and dealer equipment costs for the calibration gear).

In the old days in CO we had mandatory annual (or semi-annual, I forget) safety inspections and stickers. I wish we still had those to catch these idiots.

The GoFundMe was for the antivaxxer’s family. I posted about both of those cases. One kind of links to the other though, doesn’t it?

I’ve been in bands, and something I learned very early is that there is absolutely no correlation between musical talent and IQ, or common sense.

In Clapton’s case, it’s also something I haven’t experienced myself because I’m just a nobody muso, but people placed on pedestals by an adoring public usually start acting like assholes sooner or later. Living in a bubble of wealth and fame can be very destructive.

it’s 5 steps - after 2, number 3 is ‘family starts gofundme for funeral expenses and rent’

Very well said.
I agree. On all your points.
Btw, I have been a banjo player for more than 15 years. I’ve got three instruments at this point. I play clawhammer style because I just cannot manage the three finger Scruggs style. I even met Earl Scruggs at a bluegrass fest at Lyons Colorado. He signed the drum head of one of my banjos and we did a 15 minute lesson at his insistence. Which is surprising in retrospect because he was a very quite taciturn person as far as I could tell. I mourned at his passing.

Eric Clapton has been fairly toxic to his loved ones going way back.
I can’t speak for all of his interactions…band-mates and business people…but I don’t think too many people came away with good experiences.
He seemed to have gotten into a steadier life after being a huge asshole and substance abuser for his first decades in the business. He was a bit of a prodigy and playing quite professionally in his late teens, so he got an early start.

He’s no hero.

I’ve seen a proposal that the hospitals put the unvaccinated in a tent in the parking lot and let them get care from from their fellow FaceBook “scientists”.

I like it. If the medical establishment can’t be trusted, why use the hospital?
