I’ve seen somebody who looks an awful lot like Robert Boyd sneaking out of the backdoor of a “business” which is known to traffic in pedophilia. He probably wasn’t aware that there were cameras back there.

Not true. It works pretty well for those in power, the whites in So Africa and Rhodesia, the Tikritis in Iraq, the Communists in the Soviet Union. Granted, it doesn’t last forever, but again, nothing does, the American Democratic System is not going to survive the next Republican presidency.

Scott is no stranger to election law. When Abbott was attorney general, Scott worked under him as a deputy attorney general in 2014, when he defended the state’s voter identification law. Federal courts found the law to have discriminatory effects, and a district court also found it intentionally discriminatory.
Eventually, lawmakers had to rewrite the law to address concerns from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
And Abbott wasn’t confident he could get him confirmed by the ultra-conservative Texas legislature, so he waited til the 3rd special session was over to appoint him.
