Seems like a technical ruling, and not sure if it accords with the Michigan Constitution and law, but yet another example of the pain and horror coming out of Dobbs. Hey Michigan GOP, I look forward to you defending this.

It’s a good thing that only about 40% of the adult populace in any of these states outlawing abortion are in favor of doing it. Otherwise I’d fear the majority would be dictating to the minority the laws we should live under.

The Dem Purity Brigade decided to sit out the 2010 Off Year elections, making the GOP masters of the House until 2018.

Ish. It hasn’t sent a Republican to the Senate for a long time now. The trouble, like with a lot of the mid-west/rust belt states, is that the legislative districts (state and congressional) are heavily gerrymandered to give the GOP a death grip on the state legislature and individual congressional districts.

The loss of bodily autonomy, the possibility of state-mandated torture, the risk of death, and the permanent damage to health maybe ought to be something we care about even more. A woman could give up her child for adoption, but she can’t forgo the bodily harm and loss of bodily autonomy
