Michael Cohen Says He Believes Prosecutors Have All The Info They Need To Indict Trump

The Justice Department has obtained an internal Trump campaign report prepared for Trump telling him he had lost the election, and there was no widespread fraud. The report was presented to Trump before he started making phone calls trying to overturn election results. pic.twitter.com/n72R8ppSSK

I remember that, but not precisely which gig he was angling for. But the establishment gop types (the 2017 administration did have some) were like, no fucking way, and the grifter types didn’t want the competition.

People will say don’t listen to this guy because he’s got R after his name but David Brooks who I believe is quite sensible doesn’t think fat boy will be the party’s nominee and neither will DeSatan. He cites a number of R governors who might be the nominee instead, and while I’ll never vote for a R to be prez, those governors could drown out the right-wing rage storm for a while Kemp, Suunuu, Youngkin, to name a few

And YouTube. It’s time to start that 900-page book I promised myself I would read this year.

I’d add that I’d rather not be reading retrospectives on how DoJ coulda secured a conviction if only they’d worked the investigation a little longer or more thoroughly.

Nothing but alternative facts.

They’re all capitalizing on this, including Rachel, who’s now worth in the tens of millions if not more.

Wow…twiddling my thumbs…scratching my ass and looking for a time when justice is served in any of the plethora of serious cases against the always " did nothing wrong" Don has pending against him.Any other human being would be in a federal supermax years ago.

Kinda proves he’s guilty, doesn’t it?

Putin will have to be arrested outside of Russia. Good luck with that.

It remains unlikely that a trial at The Hague will go ahead; Russia is not a member of the ICC and the court does not conduct trials in absentia, so any Russian officials charged would either have to be handed over by Moscow or arrested outside of Russia.

So in other words, I’m just another consumer who needs to be told to buy a book. I don’t think so.

Is there a meaningful difference? Even the “good” ones are mostly in it for the money and power.

I haven’t bought a political book in years. I borrow them from the library or read them online, if available. I’m not necessarily against someone writing a book if they have something truly worthwhile to add, but a lot of this strikes me as opportunistic. I recall how many “Bush is a terrible person and president and Repubs are incompetent crooks” books came out during those years and they all basically said the same things. But the worst are books “written” by prospective presidential candidates, with pompous names like “Winning the Future”, “A Time to Lead” and “My Wee Wee is Bigger than Yours”.

Here is my prediction.

  1. Indictments drop
  2. Trump volunteers to be arraigned before a Judge at a time of his choosing
  3. Trump calls for his followers to show up in mass that day, clogging downtown Manhattan
  4. Trump gives a delusion-laden, self-serving stump speech from the courthouse steps.
  5. The media comply with live coverage and spend the rest pontificating about what it all means
  6. The Judge cancels the arraignment.
  7. Trump’s lawyers start raising an unending number of issues and appealing whatever ruling is issued even if the Judge rules in Trump’s favor.
  8. His lawyers plead to be paid but Trump tells them the exposure is worth more than money.
  9. The AG’s office wonders why they thought it was a good idea to go after Trump
  10. Evenually the indictment becomes irrelevant

I think the job was White House Counsel, which he has since denied wanting. I love redemption stories but keep reminding myself that Cohen was the thug that threatened people and carried out Trump’s wishes. It seems that his primary motivation is revenge vs doing the right thing. Welp, revenge it is, then, but something, something leopard, spots…
A pox on all their houses.

This seems to be the conventional wisdom among the media class, but I don’t understand the logic behind it. Cohen did three years of jail time/house arrest for crimes committed at TFG’s behest. Is not the latter at least as culpable and subject to a similar sentence?

Two words: Slobodan Milosevic. Although, he ended up saving the Hague a lot of money by dying before the trial ended.

I’d really like to see Putin in a courtroom glass box and I wouldn’t entirely rule it out, if he’s deposed and as part of a peace deal with whoever succeeds him. It’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility.

I love how funny that is in so many ways.

Abbott takes offense that you left him off the list. But hey, he takes offense at literally everything else too so who can tell.
