You know, for someone who imagines himself racing into a school shooting to subdue a gunman, Trump really does come off as a whiny bitch who doesn’t have the first fucking clue what’s going on around him. So either he’s a criminal who should never have been within 500 feet of the Oval Office or he’s a clueless cuck who shouldn’t have been within 500 feet of the Oval Office.
The ICC warrants are important for the history books but they have no similarity to the pending indictments of the former President. There is zero chance that Putin will be made accountable through the ICC. Not unless he volunteers to be arrested and he won’t. It’s good that they did this, but it doesn’t mean anything for accountability.
Meanwhile, actual work is being done behind closed doors at the DOJ, at NYC and in GA that will most likely lead to several Trump indictments. They’re not empaneling Grand Juries and firing off all these subpoenas just to drop the case.
When President Nixon resigned and Gerald Ford became President, he said “Our long national nightmare is over.” The nightmare of Trump has gone on far to frickin’ long. It must come to an end for the nation to turn the page on this disaster and stain on our history.
Trump is not a republican nor is he a conservative. He is an opportunist. One of his legacies to America is his changing the GOP from a political party to a gang of opportunists masked as conservatives. Think of trump as Don Corleone.
Especially those with new books to flog. I heard this guy a few weeks ago talking out of both sides of his mouth. On the one hand, he doesn’t think Fani Willis has the goods to get Trump because the phone call was over an hour long so a defense attorney would be able to make a mess of the famous lines about finding votes. On the other hand, he was bashing Merrick Garland for not indicting Trump for XYZ while, strangely, not allowing consideration for a Trump defense for such hypothetical charges.
One would hope the cases are not forgotten. But I am not trusting the DoJ. When the indictments drop… then I’ll believe somebody somewhere believes trump deserves a bucket of comeuppance.
After all… trump has serious golf to play and parties to attend and he also has his KFC and two scoops of ice cream to deal with.
He may get indicted but probably will die of old age before his first court date.
I read a comment months ago by a respected legal analyst who said that Trump might be given a year to prepare a defense. That was in connection with the classified docs case, which is the most clear-cut crime he committed, but also has complications in dealing with the nature of the material. I hope he’s not given that much time after arraignment, but it could happen. And as a white collar crime he’s not going to be held in jail pre-trial. Not even as a flight risk, I think.
Meanwhile this hush money case will eat up a lot of the oxygen in the room. The far more serious crimes like the fake electors scheme and the classified docs might not get the attention they deserve when indictments drop, due to media and public exhaustion with all the drama this will stir up if it’s the first in line.
Well, of course, but the kidnapping charges are pretty cut and dried without going into the whole collateral damage of war/who’s the real enemy here/should have known better thing. I’ll take it as a start. It’s still huge.
I’m just looking forward to reading the ALL-CAPS texts/messages that TFG will sh*t out in the next couple years. I’m mean, who does he think he is? Theghostofeustacetilly? lol
I sometimes watch MSNBC, The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell mostly, and not a day goes by where someone coming on to spout an opinion isn’t also flogging a book. It’s not easy to be inundated with so many opinions and figure out which is closet to the truth because they’re written with an eye to sales and clear cut information takes a backseat.
Funny you say that, I was thinking about her recently. She had so much to say but like everything else life gets in the way of staying on the 'Net for too long.
