Michael Cohen Says He Believes Prosecutors Have All The Info They Need To Indict Trump

Donald Trump’s formal personal attorney Michael Cohen said, in his view, Manhattan prosecutors have enough evidence to indict and convict the former president as part of the office’s investigation into the hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

Listened to a short podcast this morning from Elie Honig who said that, even if eventually convicted, which is no sure bet, Trump would be highly unlikely to ever do jail time for this specific offense. He felt that an indictment for this particular offense would be a big deal because it would be a first (former president and all that), but at the same time it would be very anti-climactic this long after the offense was committed.

Well at least somebody is in trouble… I woulda thought we’d have the nads to indict trump but the ICC sucked it up and did their job. This could have Jack Smith’s fingerprints all over it.

There’s something to be said for expediency when you reach the point that witnesses start dying of old age.

Momentum is what we need.

I think momentum requires movement. Right? To my eye we’ve been on the schneid so far.

Indictments are based on probable cause.

I’ll go one better:

I hope Mike is right. I dearly hope he is.

It’s taken so long to get to this point. And we’re not there yet.

Trump is so guilty, he should be charged with egregious public stupidity and vileness.

Then indict him and be done with it so I don’t have to hear any damned speculation anymore from anyone including podcasters who think the whole world is run by oligarchs.

Sadly, the indictment is not the end game. It’s only the starting point of something that could go on far longer than the waiting to this point.

the nearest mic. He wants revenge for being the fall guy, of course, but there’s something intoxicating about having a mic shoved in front of your face by a gaggle of over eager reporters who are recording everything you say.

Lots of people with mics and podcasts and TV talk shows will weigh in on the probably of seeing trumpet in handcuffs and then in a jail cell. Paid talkers do this kind of thing, and MSNBC does it best.

“Former personal attorney,” not “formal personal attorney”!

Kudos to Michael Cohen’s publicist for that “democracy on the line” bit. You know he’s vulnerable six ways to Sunday on the integrity front. To the extent that he’s sincere on this point, which well may be significant, more power to him.

Arrest warrant from theICC for… Putin… for kidnapping Ukrainian kids. Ok, waddabout all the dead mothrrs and fsthers and who destroyed whole cities in Ukraine? When outside people get to Mariupol they will see rubble. And judt outside thst city are unmarked mass graves for over 10,000 dead civilians murdered by Putin’s army. Kidnapping is a fine charge but not nearly even in the same universe to what Putin is responsible for.
