This is disheartening and cynical, to say the least. The Republican Party will be a lot more vexed, themselves, in the months to come, as Trump and Trumpism face the accounting for their voluminous misdeeds.
This is a good career move. The more space he can create between the forces of the evil Neo-Confederacy Party and his next job, the better for him. Being on the right side of history will be comfortable. The rest belong in the ash heap of history along with the Flint Water Perps.

Totally. I know MI has a long history of militia crazies, but methinks/hopes that the multitude of attempts to specifically disenfranchise Black voters will badly damage the GOP in that state for years and years to come. That, along with the attempts on the governor’s life and the meltdown over Gov. Whitmer’s Covid protocols have probably sunk the MI GOP from winning statewide office for a very long time. MI has their crazy like every state, there just aren’t enough of them.
Well, the majority Leader in the Michigan Senate represents a district that includes Hillsdale. Those people care more about their God’s laws.
