Judge Merrick Garland, President Biden’s nominee for attorney general, will commit to confronting “extremist attacks” in his opening statement for his confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday.
Nope
And Mitch has a wake up call about his seriously inappropriate treatment of Judge Garland in that he wouldn’t even allow courtesy visits to senators for Judge Garland when Obama had nominated him to the Court. That was really really rude right there in my opinion.
I am fully onboard with how much white supremacy or racism/tribalism plays a part in the RW and Chump’s cult and what happened Jan 6. But I don’t like the emphasis on it from our prosecutorial angle. So many of the RW aren’t really supremacists, and what they did was treason, insurrection, sedition, and illegalities against free elections.
I don’t want these people arguing their way out of this, or setting up defenses about whether they are motivated by race. They will bring in people who will swear they helped some POC with car trouble, or were always perfectly respectable at work with a diverse cohort. I want them shown to their face that what they did was insurrection, and their offenses were against America…not some kind of prejudicial deficiency in their worldview that we can’t prove objectively.
Judge Garland’s opening statement about the 1/6 terrorist attack on the Capitol puts him directly at odds with 50 GOP senators, including Joe Manchin, so…
Question… at the top of this thread I see discobot has a post with a “likes” button like it has posted something… How is it that the bot posted by itself?? I’ve not seen that before.
I think I might just flag its ass.
