Meadows Won’t Seek Reelection, May Leave Mid-Term To Help Trump

One of President Trump’s closest allies will join the steady stream of House Republicans not seeking reelection: Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC).

Hot dam, I must have been really good this year, Santa keeps dropping off goodies. This may instigate a larger number of Republicans “going home to spend more time with their families”. They don’t have anything to contribute when they aren’t in the majority.

Go to bed with impeachment, wake up to one fewer GOPer. Not bad.

might even leave the House mid-term to take on some undisclosed job helping President Trump

A perfect end to an illustrious career.

Hmm…what’s with all these Republicans in NC retiring? It’s almost like they know they can’t win a race that isn’t illegally gerrymandered or something…

What, no “want to spend more time with my family”?? Guess somebody figured out that it was time to use a new excuse…that was getting a bit threadworn.

Oh, yeah, and that “job helping Spankee”? Might that be Ambassador to Ukraine? Inquiring minds want to know…

Meadows will use his time to find more dead to drag up that can not defend themselves.
Trump attacks on McCain and Dingell and also POWs and Gold Star Families.
Other Repubs comparing the truthful statements on Trump are equal to the Crucifixion of Jesus and those who died at Pearl Harbor.
Not one Repub have challenged any of this.

Dunno about you, but that doesn’t surprise me one single bit, not with the current crew.

I am in his district, I haven’t gotten involved in political campaigns except for contributions but this is a great opportunity to claim another seat and I will have to give Col. Davis’ office a call to find out what I can do.

How’s that tea party working out for you, Meadow Muffin?

I love the classic touch here. It’s worthy of Catullus’s famous poem, though dripping with irony in this context.

It’s a big deal that this rat is jumping ship, regardless of what he says about “helping” the Orange Asshole.

I hope this cascades down to the state level. We need to get control of the state government to get a fair redrawing of the maps after the 2020 census.

I don’t see it that way at all. He is betting that if Trump is reelected the only power positions in DC will be in the White House. What amazes me is that so many congressional Republicans not only voted for an imperial presidency last night, but used their debate time to praise their absolute leader. I’ve never seen a roomful of male egos give away their power so eagerly.

Wonder what their families think about it, I.e., spending more time with these assholes.
