White House chief of staff Mark Meadows on Sunday declined to say whether President Trump brought up election interference during his call with Russian President Vladimir Putin as the intelligence community warns of possible foreign interference in the November election.
“They continue to try to influence, as everyone does” – Mark Meadows dodges a question about whether Trump brought up election interference during the call he just had with Vladimir Putin (it appears he didn’t and Meadow’s comments suggest he’s open to some help)
He obviously didn’t bring it up. Why would he? It’s a major plank of his electoral strategy to cheat to win. Forget about actually appealing to the voters. That’s old school.
Was Meadows asked whether Trump brought up the Russian bounties at all?
Maybe Trump had advice for Putin on how to handle the unrest in Russia’s far east? It’s very nice to see Putin has problems of his own, and while he tries at all times to project strength, he has significant weaknesses domestically. I can only hope it keeps him occupied for the next 100 days.
Sounds like a double edged sword to me. Should Trump bring up election interference with Putin? Of course. Should Trump bring up election interference with Putin? Absolutely not.
