McConnell Ties Himself In Knots Praising And Criticizing Biden’s COVID Relief | Talking Points Memo

It could be full on, Trump-inflicted, nihilism. It’s probably (certainly) his last term in office, one way or another, and Trump has smashed the party apparatus and McConnell has his own dearth of fucks to give now. It really doesn’t matter what he says at this point because his party swims (or rather sinks) with ball-and-chain Trump now. Trump has a death-grip on them and he’s going to drag them all under and McConnell’s best-laid plans are all for naught as the Dems have managed to get their act together (for the most part) and hang together, thanks in large part to Trump and his horrendous antics.

McConnell ran again on the expectation that he’d be majority leader for one more term and that maybe Trump would even eke out another “win.” But now, there’s really nothing he can do with Biden in the White House and Schumer as Majority Leader. So he can mouth off however he likes since the party won’t end up following him, no matter what he does anymore. He is a “RINO” after all.

Ah feel the same way about that awful Negro fellow and his take-over of health care, although I must say Kentucky’s health care store is a very, very fine system.

MConnell’s health is the biggest question in politics and the media.

Whoever gets it, gets a huge scoop.

I don’t disagree that the party won’t sink or swim because of something McConnell says. There’s no doubt about that. However, McConnell just isn’t stupid. He’s never been one to go spouting off all willy nilly. He’s one of those pols who calculates the pros and cons of every grunt that exits his lips. So, I do find it particularly odd that he’s made a number of these sorts of blunders lately. I’m sure Charles Booker can’t wait to put this quote in every other ad next year.

There was actually a lot of real ones but they were really sad so I didn’t want to post them.

Now that he’s tied himself in knots, perhaps he can roll himself off a pier.

Exactly. Maybe some day we will find out what game he is playing. I say game because I can not believe he doesn’t know exactly what he is doing. That creature is always scheming, always has something up his sleeve. Interesting times.

It’s a bitter leaf to chew. I pity him.

Even then. One can be many many strata higher in socioeconomic status and still see much more advantage in voting for Democrats.

Make cheaper crap.

Well played, Madam Speaker. “Vote no and take the dough” LOL

Dumpster, Moscow Mitch’s “useful idiot” or Grover’s person who could “handle a pen,” steam rolled MM’s control into oblivion.

Mitch is still coming to terms with this and trying to figure out how to remain relevant.

“Won’t somebody PLEASE think of the donor class?”

Please have the other 49 states send me money.

McConnell is going to have a health problem. I’d bet money.

Okay. Not too much money   : - )

As we know… to reach the highest levels of Congressional power one must leave any existing truth telling, honesty and general decency at home. Don’t bring any of it to work. Be ready to lie, cheat, steal and betray friends and allies if needed because politics is very much a blood sport. I watch and comment about the profession but I could never participate in it. I am not built for it.

Hmm… blue pill, red pill… … which to choose…
