Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) nodded at what’s been relatively clear since House Republicans first began making noise about opening an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden: it wouldn’t go anywhere in the Senate.
But one is known crook who, while in office, did lots of nasty things Mitch. The other is Uncle Joe who is doing great things for America. There is a difference you know, eh? It’s not all performative Kabuki.
After McConnell heard the jeers of ‘retire!!!’ from his own constituents the other day, he may recognize that, one way or another, he’s on his way out. I’m not surprised he said it; I’m surprised he said it out loud.
You can bet, however, were he majority leader, that whole movement would get some pretty good legs on it.
“I said two years ago, when we had not one but two impeachments, that once we go down this path it incentivizes the other side to do the same thing,” McConnell said.

Yeah. I still can’t keep track of the many times the Democrats impeached George W. Bush after the Clinton impeachment.
After McConnell’s handler’s signal got jammed the other day and they had to wheel him off to hit the factory reset, I’m not sure it’s really him any more
McConnell should be blaming Trump for his impeachments. And technically, there should have been only one but for GOP hackery.
“I said two years ago, when we had not one but two impeachments, that once we go down this path it incentivizes the other side to do the same thing,” McConnell said.
While on air, McCarthy said that Congress had found evidence that the Biden family had business deals with China, that Biden himself had received payments from abroad while he was vice-president, and is considering impeachment inquiries based on these findings.
Please proceed with impeachment. NOTHING would do more for the Republican party’s chances of taking back full control of the government. If they don’t impeach they have no spine. McConnell is a RINO.
I actually agree with McConnell on this one. Impeachment should be rare. If we get ourselves into a tit for tat impeachment we are going to turn into a laughing stock.
