House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Monday sent a letter to his fellow House Republicans saying that he opposes impeachment, but floats the possibility of censure — without mentioning President Trump directly.
Hmm, if the Democrats got the Republicans to accept censure of the President by moving on impeachment, what will they get them to accept by opening hearings into charges on felonious sedition?
Fuck censure with the fire of a thousand suns. Getting censured by an opposition-controlled House is a badge of honor. McCarthy is trying to weasel out of his gop members having to either vote to impeach the president, or approve of his sending a lynch mob to kill them.
What a pathetic coward. Impeachment is a bridge too far ten days out from an inauguration, but defying all precedent and ramming a Supreme Court Justice through a handful of days before an election – and after tens of millions of folks had already voted – is oh so unifying? What craven, treasonous POS.
“Even after the violent insurrection at the Capitol last week, McCarthy joined a majority of his GOP colleagues in voting to reject the election results from Pennsylvania and Arizona.”
I thought it was a fundamental principle of our legal system that no man can ajudge any crime in which he, himself, is complicit.
If there is anything Kevin McCarthy knows about, it is dividing the country.

McCarthy wrote that impeachment would “have the opposite effect of bringing our country together” as he urged the country to get “back on a path towards unity and civility.”
