Within an hour of President Donald Trump declaring on the White House lawn Thursday that the Chinese and Ukrainian governments should investigate both Joe and Hunter Biden, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy urged Speaker Nancy Pelosi to suspend the Democrats’ impeachment inquiry in a letter Thursday.
No. Just No.
Oops.
This from the party that thought it was OK to impeach a president over a BJ? They have no moral authority to request anything. Go pound sand.

McCarthy is dumb as a post.
But to be fair to the post, at least the post is not dishonest.
Most of the republican leadership has IQs in the 110s, my guess is McCarthy is at about 100, but it is more a functional 90, as when 60 minutes interviewed him.
Perhaps her response should be just sending McCarthy a copy of the Constitution with a brief note paper clipped to the cover: This is how we plan to proceed.
Collaborationist, pure and simple. Aiding and abetting high crimes at the highest levels.
McCarthy needs to ask himself “what would Moscow Mitch do?”
Making McCarthy the Minority Leader is a perfect demonstration of the respect that the GOP has for Congress.
Well dream on, Minority Leader. IN the first place, what are you going to do to stop your president from impeaching himself?

Citing the need for “transparent and equitable rules and procedures” to be established, McCarthy went after Pelosi for giving “no clear indication as to how your impeachment inquiry will proceed — including whether key historical precedents or basic standards of due process will be observed.”
Paraphrasing another post of mine in a different thread, Pelosi’s response should be:
“I understand that you are concerned and uncomfortable. We will uncover everything. I recommend competent counsel for all people involved.”
You are far, far too generous with your estimates. Seriously, an IQ of a limestone post is much more accurate.
I have little use for most any Republican member of congress, but McCarthy is just fucking pitiful. Can they not hook him off stage right and find somebody who makes the same stupid arguments and stupid requests, but in a less abjectly embarrassing manner?
He wants to show Trump that he’s trying. Antics like these are for an audience of one. It doesn’t matter that nearly everyone else sees this as futile to the point of ridiculous. Donny will almost certainly give him a pat on the back, and he needs that right now.
