Somebody please tell kevin that this is an impeachment inquiry, not a criminal trial. Therefore, the president’s counsel does not need to be present at these meetings, unless he is subpoenaed.

To be completely fair: I’m not sure we need to do anymore “investigation”; we just need to draw up the Articles of Impeachment. I mean, I understand the need for theater, and all, to make the case in public, but it’s not as if we don’t all already understand that the President is a criminal.

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
