I don’t see where Liz C is trying to claim that she is a moderate. She is, and always has been, a rock-ribbed conservative Republican. If nitwitted headline scribblers tag her as a “moderate” Rep for the sole reason that she refuses to sign on to a Twice Impeached Failed Dictator’s crazy campaign against objective reality, then that is simply because they (the scribblers) don’t have the appropriate vocabulary module loaded to describe what is going on.

The vocabulary in question is an older one, and may not be on the approved list for the Chuck Todd School of Even-Handed StenoJournalism.

All of this is to distract from a very basic notion of in seeking equity (legal fairness) “clean hands”. You really can’t be empowered to investigate a crime that you may have or actually did participate in. The other concept that also applies in governing is “good faith”. Given his statements, it was impossible that Troy “Sheriff” Nehls intended to investigate the riot in good faith.

By how much McCarthy is squawking about this committee, he must be absolutely terrified about getting subpoenaed.

The irony is that his actions towards Cheney and Kinzinger greatly increase the chance that they will happily vote on issuing that subpoena.
