In 1993 President Bill Clinton nominated Zoey Baird to be the attorney General. She never made it through because she did not pay taxes on her in house nanny. Trump nominated a bunch of dudes with sexual harassment claims.

A nice victory for us. Will Matty file for unemployment benefits? There’s still all those willing 17 year old’s but Matty can’t afford them now. Almost feel bad for the guy.

GOP still looks like a crime family inasmuch as not one senator would go on the record in opposition to the nomination

Hmm… I wonder if he had relations with a trans sex worker throughout all of this bruhaha :joy:

That bit of news would not shock me.

Some people are into freaky stuff and that’s their choice, no judgment.

But what if that was part of this that we don’t know about yet

Matt will end up with either a cushy job with some lobbying firm or a role in Trump’s administration where he doesn’t need Senate confirmation. Then he’ll work to wreck havoc on those who opposed him. Unfortunately, people like him are hard to dispense with.

He can pick Paxton, but outside of Texas he is seen as something of a creep. He should stay where he is.

I have no doubt there is a heady position waiting from his bros on the douchy “DOGE” committee, with continual appearances on Faux News, both of whom will pay him handsomely for his “experience and wisdom.”

Unless, of course, Gaetz plans on walking back his resignation from the House now that Johnson and his committee buds have him covered.

It’s a triple win for him in that regard. Nice to have options!

I still wanna see the House Ethics Report.

In his book Firebrand: Dispatches from the Front Lines of the MAGA Revolution,” Matt Gaetz saw Trump as his model:

“We’ve got a president now who doesn’t care for puritanical grandstanding or moralistic preening. He is a lot more direct, even visceral, open, and realistic about his likes and dislikes, so overall, this is a good time to be a fun-loving politician instead of a stick-in-the-mud.”

Nope.

DeSantis hasn’t made a decision yet, but Florida Republicans don’t want to lose that seat.
