Manchin, Sinema Join Republicans In Blocking Filibuster Reform For Voting Bills

Barring both of them changing their minds this week, they are done as examples of integrity

One of the people who brought us to this is just frighteningly bizarre. She’s a Batman villain.

Platform for every Democratic Senate/House incumbent and candidate in 2022:

(1) Pass ironclad voting-rights legislation, including guarantees against election subversion
(2) Pass the full BBB.
(3) (Senate candidates:) Abolish or drastically reform the filibuster
(4) Statehood for Douglass Commonwealth (Washington DC) and Puerto Rico
(5) Pass a new Judiciary Act, expanding the Supreme Court with four new justices
(6) Write Roe’s guarantee of abortion rights into statutory law
(7) Eliminate further crises over raising the debt ceiling

And ask voters to reject any Republican candidate for any office who supports Trump’s claim that the the 2020 election was “stolen” or otherwise corrupted.

They wasted months of everyone’s time like a couple of cheap coquettes.

Was no waste to them. When you’re selling out, you want competing buyers.

I think it’s gonna set in hard soon and getting them on the record was the move that busted the chump. At least I sure as hell hope so. Hoping the media focuses on the right part of the story here. This was completely expected but still so disappointing. May they live in interesting times. Especially Sinema. I hope her lived times are really, really interesting.

They most likely won’t (again, a repost):

Media have bought in to Mitch’s alternative universe.

I did not expect their subterfuge to be so agonizingly cruel and duplicitous. A number of Texas legislators made it a point to talk with Manchin in the Capital about the necessity of voter protection.

He was all over the map about the filibuster

He changed his mind on a whim

and Sinema was arrogant, distant, erratic and cruel.

Is she “Queen of the Butterfly Pirates?”

Thinking that Sinema and Manchin are too stupid to read the writing on the wall is the kindest thought I can hold for them. Otherwise, it is just money and ego. I can honestly say I never thought for a moment that Manchin would mess with the filibuster because it gives him way too much protection and cover. Without the filibuster he would actually have to stand up and vote the way his donors/masters pay him to.

Sinema, because she has no actual principles or positions that make much sense, I thought might be persuaded or coerced. However, her little show of curtsying as she voted against the $15 minimum wage and her complete obeisance to her big pharma masters quickly showed where her loyalties lie.

There is a lot of money being spent trying to convince us here in AZ that she is a brave centrist who is doing her best for AZ and protecting us all from…something. Socialism maybe? I don’t know, but I hope she gets defeated so resoundingly in her next primary that it makes her teeth fall out.

My heart goes out to Biden, Harris and the 48.

I hope both attain the type of historical portrayal they deserve.

Pubbies get graded on a gravity defying curve in the media as we know but just hoping that the whole moment will somehow force a reckoning with the truth for the MSM and they rise to the occasion. A little help from lady justice would do wonders to keep the topic in the news.

She won’t run. Her career is over, at least as a Democrat. Other Dems will have to smile politely at her and the human dildo from West Virginia for the next two years as if nothing has happened.

She’s gonna need a lot of Democrats to win her primary and she’s not going to have my vote or that of any other Democrat in my neighborhood, at least. She’s a pariah. If Rueben Gallego primaries her, he’ll have both my and Mrs. VH’s votes and a hell of a lot of others.
