Man Arrested For Allegedly Threatening Gaetz And His Family

Law enforcement arrested a California man last week for allegedly leaving a threatening voicemail for Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) in January.

I’m of mixed emotions here.

While I would never, under normal circumstances, wish threats on anyone, I find myself quite willing to make an exception in the case of Gaetzy here.

I’m sure it’s a minor issue…

Now if the DOJ would just go after those that are threatening Secretaries of State and local school board members, we might have something here.

Does the man who made the threat have a teenage daughter, perchance?

I thot it was going to involve a milk shake moving at high velocities.

Will Gaetz be forced to sequester Nestor?

And write COCAINE on the container. That way he won’t miss it.

Perhaps this guy is a Trumper who thinks that Gaetz is simply an opportunistic apostate.

I can’t speak to what this guy is thinking because no reasonable person condones violence as a measure to gain justice. That’s why we have the courts and a judicial system.

The problem is if SCOTUS, and other federal and state law enforcement officials are perceived by reasonable people (read non-Trumpers) as not enforcing the laws or enforcing them selectively, that can lead to anarchy and people taking justice into their own hands. SCOTUS, in particular, should be very cautious. But I doubt they will be, considering the wife of one of the Justices is an insurrectionist.

Oh noes the DoJ and FBI can’t do that, according to Hawley, that makes Garland the leader of jackbooted thugs.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gaetz and his family.

As in, we think he’s a piece of shit asshole and pray that he goes down but hard. Just not this way. Nor his family of course. They’re off limits unless of age and similarly despicable, like the Trump kids.

So Matty got a death threat, and yet how many times has he called for violence against anyone who wasn’t all in for Trump? Or did he leave that to MTG when they were on tour recently?

He apparently likes his Molly (MDMA).

Also, I’m pretty sure the poop is fake sooooo, yeah, feel free to send it to loved ones.

Googling Matt Gaetz kids and the story of whether he has kids or not is actually convoluted and involves Gaetz having to issue corrections at one point.
It doesn’t seem that there is anything too crazy - just the little brother of an ex girlfriend that Gaetz might have exaggerated his relationship with, but still nothing is straight forward with this guy.

If Garland was savvier, he’d release another statement using this as an example of the threats to public officials he highlighted in his last statement. Local school board members deserve the same protection of the law as House members.

Violence has a place in seeking justice, but only in three ways. One, when the justice system has exhausted all other means and peoples’ lives are at risk. Two, in acts of legitimate self-defense. And three, when one’s country’s legitimate law and order has been replaced by some form of authoritarianism, whether fascism or communism or dictatorship, and there’s no other way to reverse it. And even then it’s not necessarily the right path. Sometimes patience and social disruption is more effective, as I’m hoping eventually works in say Russia. Otherwise, nuh uh, it just backfires. Always. And we’re not in the third category yet.

House Members need to toughen up - why are they threatened by bunch of boisterous protesters demanding election accountability?

But not prank calls - that’s a bridge too far.
