To extend a metaphor I used earlier…
A Hail-Mary picked off at the 50 yd line…
Run back for a touchdown…
With a 2-pt conversion…

Ask that one preacher dude who’s dead now what could go wrong.
Yeah, but he thought he was jumping the line on the Rapture…
Like the 9/11 bunch who thought they were going to virgin utopia.
Never understood this fascination with virgins…
I learned the Victorians had some pretty twisted ideas about the subject from reading “A History of Sex” but the appeal has always been alien to me…
But not to Jeffie Epstein, Donnie Trump, and the rest of that crowd,
Definitely a group I could do without any association to.
Oh, I get it what the “attraction” is but we really don’t need to go there…
PS Any sign of Prince Andrew?
My sister works in a nursing home, in the finance office, and she’s been working from home for the last month. she had said many patients have died and last week her boss, the nursing home owner, called to tell her that he and his wife both tested positive and their rabbi died
A young woman I know who is a nursing assistant in a PA nursing home was offered $40 hour to go to another facility in NJ to care for Covid patients. I do not know what she’s decided yet
Mister President, risk management tells us we aren’t covered for this.
Nope. Locked in the Tower?
“Bring out yer dead”!!
“I’m not dead yet”!!
But you need to offset that against important things like tax cuts. Get a sense of proportion, man.
Gee, I never thought about it that way. Now I see that no, I was right the first time.
So…much…horror (so much of it entirely needless)
“Put another way: 70% of New Yorkers who died of COVID-19 in nursing homes and other long-term care settings never actually tested positive for the disease.”
My father died last Friday after a week long hospital stay and subsequent two weeks in a quarantined rehab center (rehab not Covid related) in Western NY…this after being discharged to my sisters care. Neither my sister or her husband were asked to be tested nor was dad tested before leaving the facility.Dad ,who was elderly ,in poor health, went downhill quickly showing symtoms of Covid and lived less than 2 weeks at my sisters house. Last week she and her husband both began showing multiple symtoms of the virus and and are self treating at home…two doctors were consulted …neither could offer testing since there were no tests available.Stories appeared in the News reporting active cases at the facility my father had stayed…and they had purportedly notified the families of patients of these incidents. That did not happen. Soooo…the lack of testing, protocols, coordination and communication appears to be a serious issue…stories like this will be commonplace soon enough…whether more needless deaths will occur before our concerted response kicks in is a matter of urgent concern.
And probably not in Florida either were the seems to be a clear effort to suppress those numbers.
Trump lied, Grandpa died.
So, you’re the living dead?..
Many of them already have. In some of these places half or more of the staff are sick as well, and the rest are afraid of getting it. There was one in NJ where all the patients had to be evacuated because nobody showed up to work there. No doubt some of the nursing home deaths were from other causes because there weren’t staff to take care of them.
I’m sorry for your loss. What a tragic situation. I hope you were able to attend the funeral, and that your sister and brother-in-law recover fully.
