The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote Wednesday to send the articles of impeachment over to the Senate, which will formally kick off the process of the trial beginning in the upper chamber. Follow along below, and refresh this page for updates.
My guess is that this trial will have a lot of surprises. Having the Parnas docs released to the press yesterday was probably just a preview. As Josh Marshall commented a few weeks ago, it’s the Senate Republicans, not Trump, who are on trial here. As more and more evidence gets dumped on them proving Trump’s obvious guilt, we can all watch them squirm while trying to ignore it.
It should be very entertaining indeed to see just how much of this Republicans can take.
Heh. There’s always a tweet. Pro or Con. Usually with tRump its a con but that statement is nice reminder that he’s been mercurial since the beginning and has never offered any consistency in his views.
This announcement today by Pelosi is a big decision as to who will make the case to the American people. Let’s see how McControl Freak McConnell tries to shut down the trial by all the stupid rules he’ll try to put into place to curtail any real testimony. Its getting a lot harder for him to come out of this impeachment trial without a whole lot of egg on his face with more and more stuff coming out daily against tRump.
Pelosi: An impeachment that will last forever.
(I love this woman. Direct trolling to you-know-who.)
That’s my thought, as well. The Democrats didn’t necessarily reveal everything they know during the hearings last fall, nor even with what they’ll be sending to the Senate today. Two days ago Pelosi said clearly that the White House and the Senate will be on trial in the coming weeks. This first dump is just a small display of the weapons she has on hand, ready to deploy if needed. She’s giving the Senate Republicans a choice: impeach the most impeachable president ever, or die a painful political death this year.

PS - I thought Patrick Maloney did great in the House in his questioning. Would have liked to see him on that list but let’s face it, we have so many shining stars no matter who she picked that could have made the cut.
Good list. I’m glad they left Amash out. He’s made a nice stand but we can’t trust him. He’s still a conspiratorial loony who has denied climate change and believes in economic nonsense. These managers will have the Democratic party and the country’s best interest at heart and will act from a basis of factual understanding.
I love how Pelosi has to school the media repeatedly on what this impeachment is about and should spend their efforts focusing on. Some questions veer in the direction of what Republicans tend to want and not respective of what this case is truly about. Kudos to the Speaker of the House.
