Lindsey Graham Is Giving His Colleagues A New Line To Defend Gaetz: 'Unverified Allegations'

Now-former Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Vice President-elect JD Vance were making the rounds on Capitol Hill Wednesday, meeting with Senate Republicans who, understandably, seem to be struggling to suppress their gag reflex when considering Gaetz’s attorney general nomination. Their meeting with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) was (it appears) a particular success for the incoming…

Unverified allegations = accusations made by women? Hmm?

On the other hand, allegations against Trump were adjudged by a jury to be rape. So are these unverified in Lindsey’s little brain allowing him to continue to support Trump?!? Sheesh

Gaetz allegedly commits sex crimes in front of witnesses, and his partner in crime pleads guilty. But there’s nothing to see here, move along.

no matter what is in the House Ethics panel’s report, the allegations of sexual misconduct — in Gaetz’s case, sex with a 17-year-old girl, among other heinous accusations — are still “unverified.”

They have witness statements, but it is unverified? Is this the same as don’t believe what your eyes see?

Every day, all the jelly fish in the seven seas thank Poseidon for giving them more spine than Lindsey Graham.

Gaetz’ unverified self-interested denials are to be believed instead?

Gaetz’s approach to dominating any situation is 'burning down the house". This should be at least as disqualifying in any position of responsibility a being a drug addled pedophile.

I think it means they are verified and Lindsay is just doing what he does best. Lying.

Indeed. There is testimony as to the payments and physical evidence that payments were made.

If the House Ethics Committee’s report exonerated Matt Gaetz, it would have been RELEASED ALREADY. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I understand there are unverified allegations about Lindsey.

They had a woman testify that Kavanaugh raped her, and still confirmed him. The playbook is well understood, they will undermine any evidence of Gaetz’s bad behavior by saying “it’s not proven, it’s just a few women saying stuff”, and ignore anything to the contrary. We’ll find out soon if any of the Senate Republicans have any kind of moral foundation…if they go along with someone like Gaetz running the DoJ then they really don’t.

Shorter Lindsey: It’s not like he did it on tape. Oh. Wait …

Lindsay Graham, House Impeachment Manager. Lead legal scholar in 1998 in the Bill Clinton impeachment. Showed great high dudgeon over the blasphemy involved in that matter, uh hum. What with a 21 year old in a
Consensual relationship with an older man. Now THAT’S crossing the moral line! Imagine that happening with a Republican?! Perish the thought, Republicans don’t DO those things! Rape and misogyny and sexual assault is done by Democrats. Yeah. Right. But Lindsay lost any rudder he may have once possessed long before he arrived in Washington. Scumbag hypocrite .

Unverified allegations. For this crowd that is a very high standard.

I think they should set up a single sex bathroom for Graham and Sarah Macbride!

Someone should ask these nincompoops how they would feel if these same unverified allegations existed for any Democratic candidate.

You know what the answer would be. A high tech lynching, character assassination, staves and torches,

You know, Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Not made by the right people.

They don’t. If they did they would already have come out and a, demanded the report be released, and b, said they aren’t voting for someone so ethically, morally, intellectually, and experientially unsuited to be the Attorney General of the United States of America.

Let your local news reporters know that, like the man said, if it exonerated Gaetz, they would have released it yesterday.

The morality of our land has slipped in some sectors.
